A/N : Yes, starting with the A/N apology!! I am so sorry that this has got out so late, I know I said two or so chapters back that I would try so hard to get these out sooner, and honestly I am, but I have been so busy with my aunt and cousin coming over and then I'm not posting anything from another fandom on Harry James Potter's birthdae because who does that?, so enough excuses, enjoy the story! My eyes shot open at the sound of my alarm, but then immediately shut at the blinding brightness of my room. I slap the screen of my phone to get it to stop screaming at me, and then drag my eyes open.
Never taking Tracey's night shift ever again.
I drag my eyes open. I can feel a headache starting while my eyes sting to be shut behind their lids for another few hours. But as I have another Jitters shift in two hours, I know I have to get up.
Dragging myself out of bed and grabbing my phone, I make my way to the bathroom down the hall. In the mirror I see dark circles already there under my eyes. I sigh and break the concealer out.
I finish my makeup and check the time on my phone. It's then that I see the news notification saying that something had happened down at a farm. My brows wrinkle as I read about a shooting and a random storm with a tornado.
Eddie, I think. I dial his number to check if he's okay. No answer. That leaves going to the scene.
I throw on my coat and zip up my boots, and lock the door behind me. Then I make my way down to the old farm. Shouldn't take too long.
It's about 9:00am when I arrive, and I see the remains of the old barn, wood scattered everywhere. I spot Dad talking to Barry, looking serious, but instead I check on Eddie, who was sitting on the back of an ambulance, holding an ice pack to his forehead
"Are you alright?" I ask him, concerned.
"Hey, yeah, don't worry. Just a bruise" He gives me a bright smile.
Convinced, I then go to dad and Barry. "Are you guys alright? I heard there was a shooting -"
"We're fine," Says dad, "we're both fine." He leaves to go talk to the other officers. Barry's looking not at all fine.
"What happened here?" I ask.
He looked around and says, "just your everyday kind of bad-guy-shootout. I promise." I might have believed him, but his voice kept cracking.
"Barry, come on, you can't lie to me, I've known you too long." I insist.
"Iris, I would never lie to you." He hugs me. Guess he's just a little scared. After all, there was a storm here, and he's always claimed his mother died in a storm. It was also a storm that sent him into his coma.
I nod, and he walks off. Eddie comes up behind me.
"So we still game for later on?" He asks quietly.
"As long as your head feels alright." I say, bringing my hand up to remove the ice pack he's still holding in place.
"I told you, babe, just a bruise." He smiled reassuringly.
"But I'd still like to see it."
He looks at me a short moment before looking away and then bringing the ice pack down.
I'm greeted with the horrible sight of a large black and purple bruise with even a small bit of blood.
"That looks terrible! You're lucky you don't have a concussion!"
"No need to worry, sweetie, it's alright, the medics already checked me over. I'm fine." He assured me.
I let out a sigh. "Fine then, were still on." I smile.
A/N : Yay another AN! It's a short chapter I know I'm sorry but ya know.... It's at least a chapter!<3 I'll probably get another one up later on in the waking hours.
You know what I don't get? How in the earlier episodes of The Flash they say it's taking place in 2020, but now, they say it's 2016... I'm so confused by it!
