Chapter one:
POV:
Evelyn..

"Birth givers I'm home" I call out when I enter the house.

In return I get no response from them meaning that they aren't home home yet.

But in other words I was greeted with 'Good afternoon's' and 'Hello Madame' from the domestic staff.

I really hated having so many workers for only there people and argued so much about it with my parents but they never listened.

I moved to go towards the kitchen and check if there's anything to eat.

Sadly this kitchen is stalked with 'healthy food' and honestly there is no space in my stomach to take in more green stuff.

I think of what I could order. Pizza isn't want I really feel like having nor is Chinese.

Why am I even thinking of what to eat when there is Mc.Donald's.

You see Mc.Donald's has this very significant place in my heart. Most people go with pizza but I think my stomach was meant for McDonald's.

So I ended up ordering it.

Knowing my legs will give up any moment I go to my room and hit the bed.

Which reminds me that when I first heard about the phrase and when my mom told me to hit the bed, I actually started hitting the bed.

I snort, who even came up with that.

I took out my phone from my back pocket and called my sister AKA Ang.

We've been together since junior year.

We're seniors now and sadly she has shifted to another school.

When I found about it, I wasn't exactly happy and well I didn't want to talk to her.

I got to know it from someone else which made me feel..hurt? Maybe because she didn't trust me enough to not tell me by her self.

But I knew that our relationship was not the normal best friend thing.

She was always there for me. She was someone different. Something about her was different. Never once has she lied to me about anything. She knew me as if we were one.

My thoughts are interrupted when her voice rang into my ears.

"OMG right timing-wait have you heard about Sam and Carol?"

"No but hey"

'Bha with the hey's and hi's first tell me, have you?"

"I already said not and I'm really not interested"

"Not interested my ass! Do you even know what happened? They broke up, after six god damn years they finally broke up."

Well that's tragic.

"Well..that's a shocker?" I really didn't know what else I could say.

"I know right I mean who could have expected that"

Lol no one.

"Anyways I didn't call you to talk about them I want to ask you something"

"Sure what's up"

I hesitated before asking.

"Are you any chance..umm..free tomorrow?"

She takes a moment to answer.

"Why?"

Busted! She knows something is up.

"Umm..well I was wondering..you know..maybe if we could..ditchthegrandballtomorrowandhaveagirlsnightout!"

"No way! Are you crazy woman, I have been waiting for this moment my whole life; not to mention that this is also in honour of you turning eighteen so don't even try and sweet talk me because my answer will be a NO!"

I really didn't pay attention to her rant because I was still confused to how she made out what I said. Crazy girl.

"Look I know that all of this grand ball crap is important but you know how I despise all of these functions..I can't stand them; but you know what, we can do something much more fun rather than attending it"

I've always hated them. All you had to do was stand, act as if you have the most discipline and have an a-star in mannerism.

"Evelyn I know that you don't want to go but I've made a promise to your parents that I'll convince you to come. As much as you protest there is no way out of this and you know it"

I hear her sigh but then she continues.

"Your parents have arranged extra security so that they can keep a close eye on you. They know you will put up a stunt before the ball and they're not taking risks this time"

Well yes I have done the whole 'vanishing' stunt before and I can't help but agree with Ang.

"Then it's really a no?" I ask with sadness laced in my voice but not without having a tiny bit hope of her changing her mind.

"Yes a 101% no!"

Well there goes that hope.

"Plus you know this is not just a regular ball, a lot of business men will be there and when I say business men I mean billionaires"

I rolled my eyes.

"You know that I'm not interested right and they'll be what..twice my age."

"Sometimes I think you're not attracted to the 'male' gender but the opposite one"

At this I let out a loud laugh.

"You know it babe" I say it with a wink but then realise that she can not see me.

"I always knew it" I hear her mutter underneath her breath as she then continues, "But that doesn't mean you won't be seeing any men. You are a young woman now and might I add very admiring."

Ugh here we go again.

"There is nothing very 'admiring' in me as you say and as I said they'll be TWICE my age Ang so forget about it"

"We'll see" I can feel the smirk on her pretty little mouth.

That brat!

"What ever..I have to go now" I say wanting to end this ridiculous argument.

"Same but I'll talk to you later! Can't wait for tomorrow, bye I love you!" with that she hangs up without letting me give a respond.

This little girl will be the death of me.
