Annabella Rowena
Broken Promises
When Anna was growing up, she had dreams. In those dreams were flashes of the future. Bits of pieces of information or events to puzzles to which she never remembered by morning.
She was always on the sidelines of the pack, never taking part, just watching. When events happened, she always had a frown on her face. Not in disbelief but recognizing she had seen this event before.
Like a light went off in her brain, illuminating the bits of her dreams she'd seen but never remembered until they actually happened.
Pack members thought she was weird. Her parents unhappy with her because they wanted a son not a weak female. One who never contributed as she stood on the sidelines always watching and never joining in.

When Anna was 8, a few homeless children were found and brought to their pack. She watched as her parents accepted one boy called Chevy into their home. He was 10, older than her and she flashed on his eagerness to be accepted.
She was standing right there, but her parents ignored her, brushed her aside without even introducing him to her. They were eager to bring him into their broken family because that's what she felt they were.
As she grew up, no longer the only child, she was shoved to a corner while her parents lavished their attention on their newly claimed son.
When Anna turned 10, her Wolf appeared in her mind on her birthday. From that day forward, Anna was no longer alone. With her wolf came the memory of the dreams she was having, each morning the tidbits of what the future would bring were remembered and not buried anymore.
For her birthday, she received her wolf and that was it. Her parents had suddenly just after she was 8 and seeming to plan to both forgot when she ever born.
She knew by looking at them that both were on the brink of cheating. Each contemplating what would happen and weighing the consequences.
But they both looked at Chevy and reconsidered it. Time moved on, the days of the past were over. Anna and Chevy may have lived in the same house, but he'd replaced her as the only child. The one her parents always wanted in the first place but got her instead.
She walked around the house, and they ignored her. She felt abandoned without even leaving the house. She pulled away emotionally, never showed them that she was hurt by it all.
Her mother made meals for three, set the table for three. Put away leftovers in the fridge without knowing or even caring she hadn't eaten.
Her father took Chevy to ball games, her mother went too, leaving her without knowing where they had gone. They went on weekend getaways and if Anna hadn't been there to hear them taking about their trip, seen bags carried to the car, she'd never had known they were going.
She wandered through the dark house, never turning a light on to warn others she'd been left on her own. She never ate in the house when they were gone, because her mother never stocked the fridge up as they wouldn't be home to eat.
She would go to the pack house and stand in line to be handed a plate and take it on the porch, or somewhere else besides the dining room. She was just another forgotten pack member waiting to be fed.

Then one morning, she woke and knew she was all alone in the house. She also knew she had a very short time to get out of the house as her mother had inadvertently left an a appliance on that had sparked and caused a fire.
She jumped out of bed as the danger of toxic fumes were in the hallway, filling up the house. She dressed and packed quickly then tossed her bag out the window.
