Keeley Leila

Broken Promises

All her life, Keeley fought to be heard. In a family of 5 kids, she was the middle child, and never the baby for long.

Growing up, she felt like she was the one left out. Her dad would carry her older siblings, her mother carried the youngest, while she walked on her own.

She was the only single child that wasn't a twin. There was her older siblings Jack and James, they were fraternal twins looking like their dad.  While the youngest set were Rissa and Reena who were identical and looked like their mother while she looked nothing like any of them.

Her older brothers had brown hair and brown eyes while her younger sisters had blonde hair and blue eyes, she on the other hand had black hair and green eyes.

She stood out from them as she stood as tall as her brothers, while her sisters were small and dainty.  Many people commented that she can't be their child so after the second set of twins arrived, she was given a blood test to determine if she was their child or not and it came back positive.

To have to resort to be given a blood test to see if she was their child, didn't sit well with Keeley. It hurt deeply as it felt like they needed proof and if they had found out she wasn't theirs, they'd immediately toss her away with no remorse.

Around 10, Keeley found a book while in the pack library. She was often left in there on her own while her dad had the boys off doing something and her mom took the girls out shopping.

She often sat and read a lot, being the only child that had brains it seems. But she found this book that was on the history of their species. It showed drawings describing things she'd read about. She would place her hand over the drawing and almost believed that if she would close her eyes and open her mind, she would be transported there in that spot, back in time, reliving it, breathing, and experiencing it for herself.

She didn't do it though, because whenever she'd get to be in the right frame of mind, Zander would come in. He was a pain in the butt. He was the darlin' of the pack, the first child of the pack Alpha and Luna.

He was spoiled rotten in her eyes and always seemed to know she was there in the pack house, hiding out. As time went on, any time she visited the pack house, words were said behind her back, comments that she heard and they hurt.

When she heard they were headed to the pack house, she always tried to talk her parents into her not going but was always told to shut up and quit complaining.

Over time, she just stopped complaining, grabbed her school books and followed. As soon they got to the pack house, she left them to immediately head to the library.

Once her homework was done, she'd work on ahead in her other books, figure things out quickly on her own. At 15, she was already working on her finals. She was that smart doing her grade 12 study's, well ahead of the rest.

Her parents wouldn't allow her to skip grades, so she worked well ahead of her fellow students to keep herself interested in school. The teachers were fine with that because her grades were all A+'s.

The principal was excited as he was going to sit her down to do her finals to see how well she'd do. She already knew she'd pass with flying colors.

Soon she'd be working on her University levels, still not knowing if she'd even be allowed to go off to University. The principal said that if she did well, he'd speak to her parents.

Maybe there was a chance for her to go, if she found a University near a pack's land. Where she could possibly stay with them and attend University. There was no University nearby them here to go to.
