It went well for a while.
But then, of course, something had to go wrong.
"So, what are you gonna get?" I asked, looking at Ash.
"Probably just a burger. You?"
"Same here." I looked down and blushed, this was a lot more awkward than I thought it would be. I could barely talk right, I was too focused on not fucking everything up. For some reason everything is different when you're on a date with someone. They could be the closest friend you have, but it'll still be weird when you start dating.
And that's where everything went wrong.
"Ash! I am sooo sorry that I couldn't go to the dance with you!" the cherry-lipped girl pranced over to us, her cheesy smile fading as she saw me. "Oh. He's here. And may I ask why?"
"We're on a date, Kenna. I'd prefer if you leave us alone." Ash said, being the nice guy that he is, as usual.
"Or you could leave the face of the earth. That'd be nice too." I smiled a little too sweetly, completely done with her shit.
I glanced over at Ash, who seemed to be hiding a slight giggle.
"Well, Dominic, I guess you've forgotten about our little deal. Is that so?"
My heart sank, I'd forgotten all about it. But I played it off cool. "I never forgot about it, I'm just not scared of you."
"You will be." Kenna said as she sashayed away.
God, I hate it when she does that.
"What was that about?" Ash asked, looking at me, seeming a little worried.
"Just a stupid argument I had with her. Nothing important." I smiled, acting as if I weren't terrified of what the girl could do.
