lula may & jack wilder one shots

- rest day -

It was just another day. Dylan had decided today would be a rest day and that the team can do whatever they want. And the second those words were out of his mouth, Merritt made himself a glass of vodka and perched himself on the kitchen island stool with the bottle within his reach, while Danny disappeared into his room, probably off to find new cool magic tricks to try (as if there was any; he had a new magic trick to try every hour.)

"So, free day," Jack said. "What do you wanna do today?"

Lula plopped on the couch and started thinking. "Hmmm," she hummed. Cuddling? They were already doing that every night. And she certainly didn't want to practice card throwing; she already had all the basic tricks and some of the hard ones down.

"Earth to Lula," Jack piped up after a while. As much as he loved the way she looked whenever she was thinking really hard— eyebrows scrunched just the tiniest bit, and she had a little scowl, as if she was mad at herself for not thinking up anything— Jack was already impatient— one of his worst habits, Lula always said.

Suddenly just the perfect idea came to mind.

"Let's go watch a movie!"

"Someone was scared earlier," Jack teased Lula as they rode back from the movie theater to the house. Lula just sat sulking in the passenger seat, refusing to even acknowledge Jack's hand.

Lula was normally good with horror movies, only occasionally jumping up in surprise when the ghost popped up or someone screamed. She would sometimes even laugh at some scenes. But today's particular movie scared the crap out of her. She was covering her ears & eyes for most of the movie, and screamed at every little hint of horror the movie gave. "I didn't know it would be that scary," she muttered under her breath. But it seemed that Jack heard her and was just slightly chuckling.

"Look, we'll go home, and we'll watch a funny movie to get your mind off all that gore. Sound good?," he tried to comfort her. To be fair, Lula did like the idea, but she wasn't going to give in so easily, as payback for Jack laughing at her.

When Jack didn't hear an answer from the brunette, he tried again.

"I'll let you pick the movie."

She still didn't answer.

"Come on, Lula! I'm being a good boyfriend and trying to cheer you up. A little something would be nice right now—" He didn't get to finish his complaint, as he suddenly felt something warm envelop his hand. He looked down to see a gloved hand wrapped around his hand.

"Let's go for Seth Rogen movies today."

Jack looked up to see Lula smiling warmly. He nodded and sped up. He couldn't wait to get started on the movie.

Hello again <3 Just to be clear, THIS IS NOT A CHAPTER-BY-CHAPTER STORY. This is the style of writing i prefer, and my stories may have made it sound like a chapter by chapter story, so I apologize for that. As I said, English is not my first language.

ALSO, I hope the amount of fluff in these stories are making you feel warm and happy inside. These two are just adorable.
