- v-day -

"So, big night," Merritt said, sitting down on the bed while Jack was fastening his tie. "Where you guys going?"

Jack heaved a sigh and checked his outfit on the mirror. Should he have gone with the black tie? Or maybe a different shirt? He let out another sigh.

"We're going to her favorite place. It's an Italian place, she says they have the best penne carbonara," he replied while putting on the cufflinks for his shirt.

"Well, good luck, boy. I'm off to the kitchen and making myself a McKinney Cocktail," Merritt replied while flashing a huge grin, and soon he left the room.

"Alright. Let's do this."

Once he slipped on his shoes, he gave out one last sigh and walked out the door, just in time to see Lula step out in the most beautiful dress.

It was a long deep red dress with a slit at one side starting from just above her knee and had simple detailing and looked very intricate, and she paired it with black pumps, simple earrings, and a matching clutch. Instead of her normal wavy hair, it was just loosely curled.

Jack was awestruck. He knew his girlfriend was beautiful, but tonight she was just gorgeous. "You look very beautiful," he breathed out. Lula replied with "You look very handsome, Jack," and took in her boyfriend. He was in a very nice suit with black shoes. He wore a tie that was just the perfect shade. Together, they looked like a power couple.

"One penne carbonara, please." Lula told the waitress while handing the menu back.

"And for the sir?"

"I'll have the same," Jack said, handing the waitress his menu.

Once the waitress had disappeared into the kitchen, a deck of cards binded together was suddenly beside Lula's fork. As soon as she saw it, his voice was heard.

"Happy Valentine's Day, Lula May."

Lula flipped through the deck-turned-book. The cover said 52 Things I Love About You & each card said something about Lula. "The way you look when you're thinking hard", "How your hair always smells like coconut", and the last page was "EVERYTHING ABOUT YOU."

She looked up and met his eyes, hers tearing up.

"Thank you."

Jack took her hand and smiled softly at the crazy dove lady.

Just by the time Lula finished wiping her tears away (it took her 10 minutes for the waiter to bring her some tissues) the penne carbonara came and the couple enjoyed it, talking about their hobbies besides doing magic, and their likes and dislikes, just normal stuff.

After they finally finished their pasta, Jack wiped off his mouth with a tissue. He started looking up and down Lula's body & taking it in. "What are you doing," Lula immediately said when she caught Jack particularly looking at her chest area. Instead of replying, Jack merely raised an eyebrow and emitted a low whistle.

"You are so done tonight."

I hope you guys like this!!! Again, this was inspired by another jack x lula one shot from archiveofourown. Yes the lemon part was a bit too awkward but I didn't exactly know how to bring that in lmao so sorry but yeah!

Also I do have to admit this one was a bit awkward because I had a really bad case of writer's block around the middle so forgive me :(
