"sometimes the best thing to do is whatever helps you forget."
Wes was honestly exhausted, and no matter how much his heart ached, he couldn't stand to make himself wait for someone who was never coming back.
Of course, he wanted to wait for as long as she was gone, but he knew he was worth more than that. He knew that if he waited for her, he would just be losing time from his life to do what he needed to do for his own future. He couldn't let anyone compromise that.
The next day at school, he didn't really hang out around the spots where he and Vanessa once did. Instead, he let Cody and Jonah take him places they went to have fun. Wes couldn't possibly turn them down; he didn't have anything else to do.
They took him behind the school, where the cheerleaders and girls who wanted to be the cheerleaders all gossiped about God knows what and why. They were all very attractive. And to most of them, Wes was extremely attractive.
They each took turns walking over to the three boys, each more annoying than the last. Although, there was a girl who didn't really fit into that mould. She had pretty blonde hair, and she was standing there texting the whole time. Cody winked at Wes and went over to talk to her. Wes smiled, because Cody hadn't really been one to initiate social situations, and he hadn't had a girlfriend in a while.
Wes, on the other hand, was being cut out of his thoughts when a brunette girl started talking to him.
"So, I haven't seen you back here before. Don't we have a class together? Maybe, chemistry?" She said, laughing because of the joke and the fact that they actually had chemistry together. Wes just smiled at her corny joke.
"Yeah, maybe. What's your name?" He asked.
"Audrey, Audrey Moore." She stated, walking closer to him until he was backed against a wall.
"What are you doing Audrey?" He asked, suddenly feeling extremely turned on by the girl in front of him.
"If everything goes as I want, you." She smirked, running a hand over his chest before stepping back. Before he knew it, the bell rang and Audrey had run back into the school.
He looked at his two best friends, who looked almost as surprised as him.
"Dude, did you and that girl just eye-fuck?" Cody exclaimed, laughing a bit.
Wes still looked a bit mystified. "I guess so. She seems... interesting." He said slowly, still not believing that had happened.
Wes was still a virgin, simple as that. He was afraid the other person would judge him, so he never did anything. He had hoped his first time would be with Vanessa, but there's no point in holding on to false hope.
As he went to his class, and just throughout the day, his mind kept drifting back to Audrey. She was beyond beautiful; she was a goddess. And, she requested to meet up with Wes after school in the parking lot.
He saw her standing near a pillar, and made his way over cautiously, not wanting to seem too eager.
"There you are! Wanna walk me home?" She smiled, waving at him as he walked over toward her.
Wes couldn't do anything but nod, letting her take his hand as they walked down the road.
Truth be told, she provided a perfect distraction for Wes. She took his mind off of the things happening in his life and brought it to all the things that could happen between them. She was exactly what he needed at that point in his life.
As they neared her house, she took him to a small park around the block. She insisted that he push her on the swings, and so eventually he gave in and they spent about an hour there. They didn't talk about much, just laughed and joked with one another about teachers and school.
They'd finally made it to her house, and surprisingly enough she invited Wes inside.
She guided him up the stairs to where her bedroom was located, and she went to her closet. She needed something to change into after being outside and sweating.
Once she picked out something, she'd gone into the bathroom to change. Wes immediately started texting Cody. He wanted him to know how everything was going, and in his opinion, everything was going great. Nothing too bad.
He was looking down at his phone until he heard her clear her throat. His eyes snapped up to the bathroom door, where Audrey stood with a big t shirt and small shorts on. If Wes had no self control, he would have been drooling.
She sat on the edge of the bed, and Wes told her to come closer. She crawled over to him, sitting down and leaning against his shoulder.
Soon, she found herself with her head in his lap, looking up at him as he studied the features on her face.
As he looked around her room, he saw literally name brand everything. From clothes, to shoes, to laptops, and anything else. He chuckled to himself.
"Oh, so I'm assuming you get everything you want." He said and she sat up. She bit her lip a bit.
"Not exactly." She trailed off, looking him directly into his eyes.
"Yeah, so what don't you have? Because from the looks of it, you have everything. What could you possibly want that you don't have?" He laughed.
She got close to his face as she smirked, "You." She said as she pressed their lips together. Wes didn't oppose, instead he just cupped her face.
That evening, Wes lost a couple things while giving himself to this girl he had only known for a day.
He wasn't upset with himself though, in fact, as he was on the way home that night, he subconsciously planned on doing it again.
Because Wes needed a distraction, and he was willing to do anything to have one.
