I opened my eyes and yawned. I rolled over to check my alarm clock and when I noticed it wasn't there I sat bolt upright. Oh yeah, I giggled to myself. The party last night.... Someone broke my damn clock.
"Morning." the beautiful man laying next to me said
"Hey." I said all too casually for the situation, "Well I've got to get ready for work. Feel free to use the guest bathroom to get dressed. But be out before 10." I said as I threw my blankets off me and climbed out the bed.
"No number?" he laughed
"Nope." I said placing a nice smirk on my face.
"Serious?" he asked in disbelief
"As a heart attack." I said placing my hands on my hips.
"Bitch." he murmered as he climbed clumsily out of my bed.
"Bad lay." I shot back
"Those are fighting words." he laughed. I just shook my head and flipped him off as I strolled casually to my bathroom. Morning afters are always the fun part for me. Although I could do without the hangover. I turned on my shower and hopped in. I took my dear sweet time waiting for the guy to leave. Of course I didn't have to go to work today. Or any day. Unless you count strolling into my music store at 1 in the afternoon just to make sure my employees weren't having sex in the back room counted as work. Despite the immature hormonal teens I had working there and my lack of well.... Working, my store does farely (very) well. And I get cut a large chunk of change at the end of every month, even after paying all my expenses. Life for me is pretty stress free truth be told.
When I hopped out the shower I heard my phone ringing.
"Hold up hoe!" I screamed at it as if it could actually hear me. I walked into my room wrapped in my towel and answered it
"Talk to me." I said not bothering to look at the I.D.
"Hey whore. Party at mine and Maxxie's tonight. Be there!" Sammie screamed excitedly in my ear.
"Fine. I'll be there, jeez. But you do know you're still technically my roommate right?" I laughed
"Yeah, yeah. Don't rent out my room though, I might need it when Max and I fight." she said
"As long as you pay rent you won't have to worry about that." I said before I ended the call, we never end phone calls like normal people. I was actually excited to go trash someone else's house for once. Mine is always getting ruined. I messed around in my room a while longer before I heard the guy pull out my driveway. Once I was sure he was gone I went downstairs to survey the damage. It wasn't too bad, but it wasn't all that great. A few furniture pieces had been broken, but no real damage. It just looked bad with all the trash, decorations, and balloons littering the place. Eh. I'll live. I walked carefully to the kitchen, being certain to avoid any shards of glass.
I sighed as I poured a glass of Sunny D.
Sweet, sweet Sunny D. I could write a song for it...
Anyway, too lazy to make breakfast I threw on my Converse and grabbed my car keys. On the way to Starbucks I heard Issues on the radio. I laughed and called Sammie up
"What now hoe?" she asked with a laugh
"Your boyfriend's song is on the radioooo." I said obnoxiously loud
"That's cool? You know I don't care about these things..." she laughed but I knew it was true. Escape the Fate wasn't her favorite band, even if she was dating the bass player.
"Well damn then. Let me talk about Max then." I said sighing
"Call his phone, jeez. I'm in the middle of party planning!" she said before hanging up. I shook my head and dialed Max.
"'Sup?" he asked
"That's all I get?" I mocked hurt
"Yes. Now what's going on?" he asked, I could hear Sammie on the phone in the background
"Issues, on the radio, on my morning Starbucks run." I laughed
"Cool? So what are you really calling about?"
"Well I was wondering what Sammie would like for her birthday." I asked as I parked in front of Starbucks and killed the car.
"She was looking at some ugly ass boots at the mall the other day. Maybe you should go check it out?" he suggested, I could hear him inhaling deeply, him and his damn smoking
"Smoking is bad for you." I laughed
"Well so is everything else in the world." he countered smoothly, we've argued about this billions of times, even though I smoke too.
"Anyway, what store?" I asked
"Don't change the subject, you know you lost that argument. And that one, with the shoes... And belts and things." he laughed
"Wow. Thanks Max, that's real helpful." I said sarcastically
"Glad to of been of service." he mumbled, inhaling again.
"Well, I'm done listening to you give yourself lung cancer. I'll see you tonight. Bye Maxxie." I said, unbuckling my seatbelt
"Later." he mumbled before the line went dead. I hopped out the car and ducked into Starbucks. After ordering my morning Mocha and a brownie (an all around American breakfast) I went back to my car and ate there. I hate eating in public... People freak me out. When I finished my heart stopping breakfast I decided noon was late enough to go to the record store. Once I pulled into the parking lot I re-thought my decision. It was a very busy day today. Despite all my will power I got out the car and went into the store, to be greeted by one of my favorite employees
"Hey Legend!" Tayleyy greeted me.
"Hey Tayleyy." I smiled happily at her.
"It's kinda crazy right now, huh?" she asked looking around
"Yeah, I almost didn't want to come!" I laughed
"Face it, you never want to come to work." she said crossing her arms
"True, but when do I ever have to?" I said
"Never. Because you've got me, and I do all your work for you." she teased
"Agreed. Hey, I've got some stuff to do..."
"No you don't." she challenged.
"You're right. I don't want to be here, so I'll talk to you later." I laughed
"Sounds like a plan." she said turning and walking back to the storage room. I laughed and made my way back to my car. As I started it my phone started to ring
"Hello?" I asked
"Hey." the girl said
"Sorry, who is this?" I asked glancing at the number and not recognising it
"It's Kareena." she laughed nervously, but it was easy to tell it was forced.
"Oh hey babe! Haven't heard from you in a few weeks. How has it been?" I asked
"Terrific... Horrific. I got in a fight with Danny and packed up and left him." she said, sounding nervous
"Really? Good. I hate that guy." I admitted
"Funny, me too. I stayed cause... Uh. I had no where else to go. Still don't..." she said. Ohhh. That's why she sounds nervous, she needs a place to stay and doesn't want to ask.
"You can always stay at my place." I said casually
"Really? Than- wait. You should know, I'm pregnant." she said
"Wow. Well uhm, congrats, I guess." this is a very awkward conversation...
"Thanks. But is it still okay for me to stay?" she asked
"Of course! I'll pick you up. Where you at?" I asked
"Some motel." she said, also giving me the address.
"Okay, see you soon hun." I said before hanging up. Well I might want to ask Sammie about this... Oh well. She's never home anyway.
