Author notes: This poem is based on my relationship with my deceased wife, and how I wish to be truly worthy of her hand, bettering myself day by day till I'm also worthy of the title of King.

"My Queen"
Heaven's light shine upon the iris
Of a figure no better than a virus
A sinner standing before the pearly gates
Peering through the gaps, catching sight of his soulmate
A crown sat upon her head, a queen was she
A smile she cast at me
Empty was the seat beside her
My heart lept, I wished to be a Sir
A knight of her court
To become a worthy consort
A million demons I'd slay
Proud of the day
I'd call her my queen.
