Author's notes: This poem is based of my relationship with my guardian angel Karen who took care of me and cherished as her own considering they couldn't have kids.

"My Guardian Angel"

As a child I found myself snuggled against her
I was so young my memories a blur
Yet I cannot forget the bond we had
Impossibly fond, leaving me sad
As you held yourself out of my reach
Often do I hear your friends preach
Of the good deeds you did in this life
And the happiness you brought as wife
To a man who soon crumbled
Once more I pray it merely a stumble
No man deserves self destruction
And to think us of his construction
Of all those turned saint
No one could taint
The women who stood steadfast
To the very last
Brought tears of sadness and joy
To this little boy
Who's shoulder you hover
Not unlike a mother
