Author's notes: This story is inspired by world war I and the poor men drafted or pulled into the war wishing merely to live their lives in peace.

"Music"

My love for the vibrant tones resounds in my very bones
The great elaborate sound
Keeps us bound
A great cacophony breaks the trance
Anger bubbles up in the man from France
A great bellowing filled the halls
Hateful shouts and evil calls
Once the source of cacophony is ceased
A gay jig is unleashed
Dancing upon the halls
Like the great balls
Of our once great nation
Each swaying with elation
As they recover from the war
Yet at the end of the day their pushed to the door
They leave for the trenches
With no word or mention
Hearts break as our heroes arrive
But with the war they left their lives
Buried amongst the dirt and mud
They hold onto each other and hug
Sheltering each other from the blows
While putting on their own fireworks show
In the end the mud can't mask that glow
Wings granted to those
Who come under blows
May our hearts be with the poor souls
As the church bell tolls
