"Illuminating the path"
The burning sun hung high in the sky
Giving light to my face as I cry
Tears ran down my face
As I trudged through infinite space
With this light I could find the path
I could avoid the wrath
Of the cold ruthless darkThat prowled the desert like a shark
In the deep blue abyss
Yet something seemed amiss
The sun brought no warmth
Nonetheless I followed the path north
All the while questioning the world
As I remained curled
Enduring the dark and the sounds
What ever it was kept me bound
A long drawn out howl filled the air
I was so scared, yet I didn't care
I opened my eyes and spied
A sight so ghastly I thought I died
A starved women with a mangled jaw
Like the black bird she give a loud caw
She made her way to me
I stepped back taking my leave
As she squawked, close on my heels
How I wished for a piece of sharpened steel
Or perhaps a gun
But instead out came the sun
As her hand came within it's rays
It burned up the hand of that evil stray
I used the sun's rays to find my way
Back into the light of day
Once more upon the path
Away from that possible bloodbath
I stood in front a golden staircase
Climbing it without fear of mistake
At the end laid a golden gate
And my curiosity could not be sate
