_________long time memories flooded back to my mind as I gazed at my uncle Neil's house.
So much has happened here. Though I had thought, more than once, how things would be if I came back, I had never really considered seeing myself, sitting in my car in front of this house.
Maybe that's because you haven't laid a foot here in nine years, what do you think?
"Yeah, and I'm seventeen now." I said to myself.
The last time I'd seen Neil it was at my mom's funerals and that's it. I've never seen or talked to him since. Ever.
No matter how much I tried, I couldn't bring myself to calm my nerves. Still sitting in the car, I picked up my mp3 and put on my headphones then sank in my seat and tried to chill on some music.
After a twenty minutes, none of my numerous favorite bands had managed to reduce my anxiety, since
I kept pressing the next button none stop every little second that past. I couldn't appear to find something calming. After five more minutes of frustration over my own mp3 player, I gave up.
I got out of the car and went in shaky steps to the front door. Hesitantly, I climbed the steps.
I took a deep breath and knocked three times with my eyes closed. As I waited, I was tempted to run for it. The envy of just jumping back in my DBS and drive miles away was tempting alright! I took heavy breaths to reduce the heat inside. God, it was so hot and yet I remembered it was practically north pole here during night times. I can't say I'm not excited to see my uncle again. I am but I'm nervous.
Keep it cool, keep it cool, keep it cool.
After what felt like a century, the door was finally opened by a Neil in a grey baseball T-shirt and navy shorts. I gave him a nervous smile. He eying me with confused deep green eyes and my heart stopped working. His hair was short and messy and he had collected a broad musculature. I stood there gazing in awe at the pile of muscles my uncle had became.
My smile widened and he frowned in confusion. Before I could say a word he broke the silence. "Err...,hello, " he said, "Can I help you, young lady?" He asked with a friendly smile.
I gaped at him in confusion, then it hit me. I had thought of different kinds scenarios to his reaction, but never did I see this coming.
Astonished, I took a small step backwards and ran a hand in my face.
