The door bell rang. I was laying on my bed. Sniffing, I stood up and went to the bathroom. I washed my face after forcing my sobs to stop and dried it with a fresh towel. Thankfully, Neil was out training again so he didn't see me cry. The bell rang again. I pounced down the stairs and reached the front door.A pale guy was standing on the porch, his attractive, dazzling good looks making him too beautiful for anybody's own good but himself.
"You,"
"Me," a bright smile automatically found his face. "Long time, little doll."
"Not long enough, apparently." I retorted with a snort. His smile flattened a little. I eyed him cautiously. "Anthony, What is it that you want?”
"Won't you let me in?" His expression was a little disappointed.
"Well..?" He said when I stayed rooted there, blocking the way. It was clear that I wanted no vampire in this house. The thought seemed not to occur to him.
"Why should I invite a vampire in my house?" I shot him a scrutinising stare, then he realised, chuckling.
"So, you really think I need your invitation!" His tone questioned my sanity. "That's absurd, little doll."
"Maybe, I'm not yet sure if it's the truth. But I think it's better off if we don't explore that option.”
He laughed then sighed. "But I do think so. If the vampire in question has spared you a lifetime, the least you can do is letting them enter. " He paused. My mouth stayed closed. "Fine, then. Let's not linger on that subject. I'm here to escort you to your first training."
I blinked, not believing what he'd just said. "What?" I gaped again. "Where's Humphrey?"
"Little doll," Anthony started, ignoring my question. "Go change into something more adequate, and meet me at my car." I was taken aback by his comment on my outfit.
"What is wrong with my clothes?" I wore an elegant long black skirt which reached my feet and a grey sleeveless shirt. It looked very adequate to me. "They're perfectly adequate."
His perfect lips broke into a smirk."I'm sure of that … but not where we're going."
"I haven't even agreed to follow you."
"Oh, but you did. Or don't you remember?" His smile broadened. I was going to kill Humphrey. Why did he have to send me a vamp?
"And besides, you owe me big."
"That gives me no choice at all."
He sighed. "You're wasting my time here... and yours of course."
I went to my room and changed into jeans, replaced my sandals with black Nikes and put on a T-shirt and a hoodie instead of the shirt.
I ran downstairs and closed the door behind me. Anthony was still waiting for me on the porch.
“Let's go.” he motioned. I followed him down the driveway and blinked at his car. It was.. something; A black Audi R8. Of course. I climbed in next to him and relaxed a little. This time, sitting correctly on my seat. He didn't bite me or anything last time, after all and quite frankly, if that was is any of his intentions I wouldn't be here.
He didn't speak as he drove. Actually, he fixed the road; lost in thoughts. It was fine with me. I found no interest in babbling.
After a few minutes, I glanced outside the window. We had left my neighborhood. There was only the forest now.
