At the age of eight, since my father announced me the unfortunate death of my mother, I've always learnt to count on my little self. There was no one else there for me and my dad but me. When my mother left us, my dad wanted me to return back next to his side so he could watch over me.

I know my mom was alive. But I don't know why she has disappeared again. But I know I am bound to find out what is going on with her and also, what is going on with the boys.

I shook my head slightly. All this is not important at this exact moment. Sean is waking up today. The doctor said he's regaining consciousness and I know I have to be there. Be there for him when he wakes up to live a better life. I rushed down the halls of the large building. My heart was beating fast and I was starting to pant for air as I ran up the stairs with excitement. I smiled when I saw the door to his room. My only hope now is that he wakes up when I'm at his side. I stopped running and evened my pace. I reach the door and immediately swing it open, the huge smile planted on my face disappear when I see that Sean is already awake. His expression became grave when he saw me. All I could read on his pale little face was fear; he was petrified. The man sitting in the chair next to his bed turned. His blond hair was exactly as I remembered and also his elegantly lean figure was the same. He smiled up at me.

“Ah, finally. We've been expecting you.”

“Gwen, isn't it? Have you forgotten me?” he asked suddenly concerned.

I didn't answer him. Instead, I glanced across the room at Sean. His skin was getting paler each second that passed and I could literally touch the fear radiating from him.

  “Damek, am I not mistaken?”

“Yes,” he nodded with a smile.

“Sean, what's wrong?” I approached the bed and sat right next to him. His skin was light and cold. Worry immediately shot through me. “Sean, you're freezing!” I gasped when I touched his skin. He raised his eyes to stare up at me, his lips then curved into one the most adorable smile I'd ever seen.

  “Gwen, you came,”

“Of, course. I wouldn't miss this for anything in the word big man.” I said, then gave him a small kiss on his forehead and tried to hold back my tears.

  “Incredible, isn't it?”

Confused, I raised my eyes to the man sitting in the chair across from us.

“How we meet again,” Damek said. His tone was less warm. “It's funny how fate works sometimes.” he stood up from his chair and started to close on to us.

I felt Sean's hand squeeze my left arm. I stared down at him; his eyes were wide with plea, he was clearly frightened by the man in front of us. I had to do something, but what?

“You know, I've never been this lucky in years!” The sudden excitement in his tone made my chest hurt as my heart hammered uncontrollably.

“It must be a great event for you two, there's no doubt.” he told.

“What are you doing here Damek? I don't understand. Why…what do you want?”

His smile broadened. “Well, I'm glad you're asking, dear Gwen,” he said. He put both hands behind his back.

“Hasn't anyone ever told you that you had quite an interesting power in you?” His question made me flinch.

I didn't answer him. How did Damek know I was a witch? It was impossible, unless he was too or he wanted something from me.

“No, nothing is impossible. You should be knowing that.”

I held my breath.

“You are a sorcerer. You.. You can read minds?”
