Chapter 17. Dreams

  “Excuse me,”

I opened my eyes to the blazing sun between the leaves of the trees above. A shadow came and cut short the rays so they couldn't reach my skin anymore.

  “That's my bench.”

A young boy stood in front of me. The long brown hair covering most of his face hid nothing of his pale skin. I stared. His aura was not like any other person'sHe seemed weak and tired. I shook my head slightly before staring around the park. It was the afternoon and not so many people were present that day. There were many benches too.

  “There are many benches in the park.” I pointed. “Can't you just find anywhere else to sit?” I added, trying to be polite. The boy was probably ten or eleven yet I could see clearly on his face that leaving people in peace under the sun on a bench they sat on first wasn't his thing. He continued to stand there in front of me. I felt agonisingly uncomfortable and I could no longer return to my little bronzing session.
