I thank my light gray hoodie for being sooooo good at keeping me dry. That way, I can walk into BigHit Entertainment building with wet hair and clothes. Definitely leaves a good impression.
"My name is Jung Hye Soo, and I'd like to visit BTS, please," I requested politely to the man sitting behind a tiny desk by the entrance of the building.
"You're Jung Ho Seok's younger sister... aren't you?" the man questioned.
I pulled my hoodie down to reveal my face and wet, messy hair. I could hear the water droplets rolling down my hair and falling to the ground. "Yes, I am Jung Ho Seok's little sister."
"I'm sorry. I am advised to not allow you to visit the boys and your brother."
I smirked and stared at the floor, drawing small circles of water on the floor with my wet sneakers. Knowing my brother and how he treats me nowadays, I expected this. I looked up, staring sadly at the man. "If I can't visit him, can I at least see him?"
The man sighed, but as many other guards did before, he gestured me to do so.
With my hood popped up again, I leaned against the doorframe of the practice room, watching through the mirror. Seven young and handsome boys danced to their song "Danger." My eyes unknowingly focused on Ho Seok and followed his every move. His crisp movements, smooth footwork, intense stare. They lasted all throughout the song. Then, the song ended and the boys took a water break, exhausted and gasping for breath. Even then, their intensity didn't seem to waver.
A pair of eyes met mine through the mirror. Surprised, my eyes widen. I shifted my weight uneasily until I stood balanced on my two feet. Hastily, I turned around so that the boy would no longer see me, nodded at the security guard to take me back, and left. I made the mistake of taking a glance behind my shoulder. The same pair of eyes from before met mine once again. He was standing there, squinting to try to see if he could recognize me. Jeon Jungkook. I trust you, don't disappoint me, you cookie cannibal. At that "telepathic" message, I smiled and tugged my hood down to reveal my face and wet hair, which splashed water everywhere. So attractive.
I bowed respectfully to the security guards that escorted me out of the building. Now, I was resting my head against a nearby tree, staring off into the distance and breathed in the scenery: diverse colors and styles of cars, moving along the street; bright traffic lights to keep them in check; couples walking around the shopping district happily; the beautiful rain that made the world a gloomy gray, but painted it with a beautiful, bright palette at the same time. The same rain that ran down the brightly colored umbrellas of people shopping. The same rain that darkened tree barks, making its green leaves shine brighter than it would in sunlight. The same rain that possibly caused the BigHit Entertainment building to have water drops and caution signs pile up in the hallways thanks to my clothes.
I sighed and looked up towards to sky. Rain drops danced on my face, making me feel relaxed. The feeling went away when my phone started vibrating aggressively for attention. I dug around the pocket of my jacket and tugged at my phone until it finally let go of the wet cotton. Incoming call from... Jungkook? Wait, no way... did he actually recognize me?
Hesitant to pick up, I paced around the front of the building near the tree and started to panic. To pick up, to not pick up. To embarrass myself and be awkward about it, to ignore an old friend and pretend I changed my number. To look at the dance practice room window and see if he's watching me, to trust that he's not a stalker. This is why I fail at life [A/N: don't tell me I'm the only one].
The window was tinted and dark. I accidentally missed the call. It was my first time getting caught while seeing them, which made me panic more. I wanted to call back, but also knew I'd regret it. Now I just stood there staring at my phone, wondering how this even happened... until my phone vibrated again. Same person calling, same situation, almost same reaction. After much pacing and panicking, I decided to just pick up the call.
