Hye Soo pov

“Hey!” I stopped in my tracks and went back to meet Jin at the car window. “Have fun in school, okay?”

“Thanks! Good luck with the boys,” I said cheerfully.

“Ugh you have no idea.” I chuckled at his statement as the car he rode in began to drive away. The further away he was, the more depressed I began to felt. Man, I really hate school, I thought to myself.

The first thing that “greeted” me before the school was Hye Jung’s arm wrapping around my shoulder. “Morning weirdo,” she said.

“Ugh, don’t remind me,” I replied, disgusted by the mere thought of entering the school. I slid my arm around her waist, so that we ended up holding each other the way couples usually do.

We roamed the hallways, where students laughed with their friends, made out with their partners, or just stood at their lockers, waiting for time to pass already. Our first stop was my locker. I quickly unlocked it and threw my backpack inside, bringing with me only the books I needed for the next few classes before lunch. Before I could even lock up my locker, I hear someone sneer at us.

We turned our heads, annoyed, only to come eye to eye with Kang Ja. This again, really?

“My brother might have saved you last time, but he’s not here with you now, is he?” She smirked. “You know,” she walked past both of us, then turned around to face us again. That way, we would be surrounded by her and her friends. She leaned against the locker next to me and glared at me. “I don’t like the way you’ve been treating me, Hye Soo-ah.”

“What is she supposed to do? Apologize? That’s something we should be hearing from you,” Hye Jung responded in my stead.

Kang Ja scoffed. “Me? Oh jeez, I expected better from the daughter of such a famous prosecutor.”

“And I expected better from my sister,” all of us turned around to find No Eul standing there. “To stoop so low,” he began, “would you call someone who was like that worthy of apologies?”

Kang Ja straightened up her spine so that she was standing straight. Her face showed annoyance but obeyed No Eul. Without saying a word to him, she looked at Hye Jung and I and said, “You got lucky,” before storming off.

“Seriously, why didn’t you do this before?” I asked No Eul.

“Maybe because I was never around when you guys were being picked on by my really-not-as-evil-as-you-think younger sister?”

Hye Jung scoffed. “I’ve never once seen her be anything but evil.”

“Hey, it’s my sister we’re talking about. Can’t be that evil if I’m her brother.”

“I beg to differ,” Hye Jung sneers.

Oh, school. How great are you.

Seokjin’s pov

“Hyung!” I only just stuck my foot through the door before getting nearly tackled to the ground by one of the younger ones. “Is Song Mi at school?” Jungkook asked. His eyes were shining with anxiousness and worry.

“Where else would she be?”

“Just making sure…”

“Heh does our maknae actually like the one girl he talks to?”

Jungkook glared at me. “Does our oldest member want to, maybe, play Overwatch with me?”

Gosh darn it. Jungkook. Why does the kid have to be so good at everything, including getting me to cave to my weaknesses. I swear he’s dangerous. “.. Fine.”

“Sweet!” And with that, he ran off.

I made my way to the kitchen, seeking a glass of water. “Hyung!” I turned to face the owner of the voice. Ho Seok stood there, sipping some juice, smiling. His dimples showed cutely as he ate some of the bread on his plate.

“H-Ho Seok…” I responded, worried. “Are you sure you’re oka-”

“Hyung, I’m fine. Why wouldn’t I be?”

I approached him cautiously. “You left earlier,” I said, lowering my voice so only the two of us could hear.

“Yeah, I had to pee.”

“Oh, okay then.”

“Oh, hyung,” he laughed lightheartedly, “why else would I have left. Are you thinking things?”

“I don’t know… I just thought maybe, you know, you missed your sister or something. Song Mi seriously does look like her. Speaking of which, you never did tell me why you don’t talk to her anymore.”

“Don’t worry about it, hyung. Song Mi isn’t Hye Soo,” Ho Seok patted my shoulder, grinned, then started to walk away, his cup in hand. “Oh, and,” he stopped to talk again, “we should really do a good job protecting Song Mi. There weren’t any shady people where her school was, was there?”

“Not that I know of?”

“Okay, good. I would hate for her to get hurt at our watch. I’m sure Jungkook would be upset, too.”

“Yeah, I’ll pay better attention next time.”

“Thanks, hyung.” I stared at Hoseok’s back as he walked away. I couldn’t help but think he was just a little bit upset or something, but I concluded that it must not have been in my place to poke around at his past.
