Kang Ja and her two little "henchmen" blocked the shortest path to class, and No Eul sucks at lying. There's no way he could stall any longer. I would normally let them do whatever they wanted to me --- which was generally pouring some sort of staining liquid on me, throwing a couple of hard punches to the gut, or a good talking to --- but I wasn't in a good mood to start with. I didn't want to deal with these idiots any longer.
"I thought you learned your lesson," Kang Ja whispered. I could feel her breath from the distance we were from each other. "If we catch you, you're ours to play with for a while. Don't make this complicated and beg for mercy." An evil smile was plastered onto her face. Her hand was still attached to my hair.
"You don't know enough about me to mess around with me. I was your victim, and I might always be, but not without fighting you. Even if it's only one time, and even if I regret it," I spat at her. As I did so, I raised my hand and dug my nails into her shoulder, pushing her down with so much force that she fell on the floor, grabbing her shoulder in pain.
I stood up and dusted myself off as the two other girls ran for their lives. The school was aware of my Taekwondo background, but the school also knew I wouldn't use it. I guess I succeeded in showing how pissed I was.
"It's time that you're the one to kneel down, Kang Ja. And not just to me," I said. Then, I started my sprint towards class again.
"Yah, Jung Hye Soo, you're gonna pay for this!" Kang Ja yelled. Her voice echoed through the hallway.
I was at the foot of the classroom door, when I saw No Eul talking to the teacher. He looked frustrated until he saw me. Suddenly, he ran into the classroom.
"Hye Soo? Are you the reason No Eul was asking ridiculous questions about why the sky is blue, and why grass is green?" the teacher asked.
"Ah, professor! You know that no student is late unless they enter after the teacher," I replied, smiling in a way that says "please help me out here."
"Should I just cut in front of you then?"
My smile was starting to erode into an expression that yelled, "no, please don't!" "You wouldn't do that..." I helplessly pleaded.
He smiled and gestured towards the door. "Next time, don't forget to add Professor Kim to your sentences."
I didn't want him to change his mind, so smiled and ran into the classroom before he could even think of coming in first. I eyed No Eul and mouthed "thank you" before sitting down.

The bell rang and echoed around the school building, telling us to get out of here. I grabbed my stuff from my locker in the back of the classroom and stuffed it inside my backpack. To dodge the stampede of students that would grow if I were out of the classroom any later, I rushed out, forgetting about everything.
"Hye Soo-ah!" I turned to face the owner of the voice, and sure enough, Shin Hye Jung was there. She ran to catch up to me.
Hye Jung, just like her name, was as pretty as a flower. Boys in our school admired her, and bullies left her alone since she was the daughter of a famous prosecutor. Despite everything, she's the best friend of an ugly potato with no life. Me.
"I didn't see you at lunch again, where were you?" Hye Jung asked. She seemed concerned, but not worried. I would often skip lunch to go out, so it wasn't anything new. Of course, I would go to the BigHit building, so I couldn't bring her with. She might've been my best friend, but I wasn't close enough to her to say anything about my brother or my past.
