Jungkook' s pov

“Wait, he called you by your real name?” I asked.

“Yeah,” Hye Soo replied, “I was so shocked and confused, but he said it was a mistake.”

“I mean Hoseok hyung’s pretty confusing to read. But if he actually knew, why play it off as a mistake?” Taehyung brought up.

It was a good point: there was no reason for Hoseok to not expose Hye Soo right then and there. Unless he had other reasons. “Then do you think he doesn’t know?”

“I feel like maybe he’s just suspicious, but not sure,” Hye Soo answered.

“Could be. It also could’ve been a genuine mistake, but I mean that depends. How different do you look from the last time he saw you?” I questioned.

“Well considering that I saw him not too long ago and the only differences are my glasses and my hairdo… It could’ve been just a mistake.”

“Wait, that’s the only difference? Did you try, I don’t know, changing your style or your makeup or something?” Taehyung suggested.

“I’m broke and I have no time. What do you expect?”

“Taehyung I think we need to take this girl shopping,” I said. Taehyung nodded in agreement.

“What? No?! Don’t, don’t you DARE do that I swear,” Hye Soo glared and pointed at both of us. "Anyways, after packing, he disappeared. I found him on the streets, chasing something he thought was a suspicious person. He said it was a false alarm, but I'm not sure. I don't know if you guys got a good look at his hand, but it was all bruised and scratched."

"Wait wha-" I began.

“Hello?” We all froze when we heard a knock on the door. “Song Mi, are you in there?”

“Ah, uh, who is it?” Hye Soo answered.

“It’s me, Jimin. Can I come in?”

“Uhhhh,” she looked at the both of us, panicked. We just shrugged. Wow, we’re so helpful. “Um, sure.”

The knob turned and a wild Park Jimin stood at the doorway. Taehyung waved, grinning. I just stared at him.

“Oh,” he said. “I didn’t know you had company.”

“Well, they brought me to my room so…” Hye Soo sat there and shrugged.

“Haha, okay. Well I got you some water and fruit if you needed it. I figured you would be hungry, packing and unpacking your stuff.”

“Oh, thanks! Actually, I am hungry.”

“Shut up, you’re always hungry,” I replied.

“There’s nothing wrong with that! I’M always hungry too,” Taehyung exclaimed. He turned to face Jimin. “Jiminie hyung, do we have snacks? Like chips?”

“We went over this, Taehyung. Eating snacks at this hour is bad for you. Stop asking!”

“Hmph, fine,” Taehyung pouted, looking at me.

“Hey, don’t look at me! Jin hyung has all the snacks hostage anyway, so there’s no way to get access to them.”

“Y’all are crazy,” Hye Soo got up and walked to Jimin, stepping over us. “Just take the fruit.”

“See, that’s the spirit,” Jimin responded. “So… what were guys talking about.”

Hye Soo sat down again and gestured for Jimin to join us. “Something that you might be able to help us with.” I glanced at Taehyung, who met my eye, and both of us stared at Hye Soo, confused. I stared at her with my “what are you doing?” eyes, and she just winked in response. “Do you know how to read Hoseok's reactions?”

“Huh? Why do you ask?”

“Because... I like him.” Taehyung and I choked at her statement. I grabbed Taehyung’s arm in haste and slapped his back.

“Why are you slapping me? Jungkook sToP!” he shoved me in retaliation. I fell to the floor and just stayed there. This is going to be a loooong night, I thought, staring at Hye Soo and wondering what might be going on in her mind.
