The day has come. It's the day before homecoming. My sister and I already know what hairstyle we are doing but we need to go dress shopping.  Peyton is blasting some music from the artist Drake and the band Panic! At The Disco. She loves the songs from them. We ride in her white Jeep Wrangler she got for her 16th birthday. We arrive there. I walk in and I see beautiful dresses everywhere. Peyton couldn't resist herself, she went straight for the teal dresses. But Zach and I were gonna wear a baby pink. So I want to stay with pink. Peyton is rummaging in dresses right now. She looks hilarious. Her ombré hair everywhere, I giggle softly and continue on. As I'm walking, I see the dress. I walk to that dress. But you know, fast. It's a strapless long in the back short in the front, sparkly top, hot pink but fades to baby pink, dress. It's beautiful. I immediately check for the size. It's my size! It's the universes sign for me to have it. I tell Peyton to pick 3 dresses and meet me in the fitting room. I try it on. It fits perfectly. It's silky soft, the rhinestones don't even feel weird around the chest area, the bottom isn't too long that I'll trip, but not too short that it looks awful. I think I'm in love. I'm not even missing Zach. Zach. The image of him burns in my memory. Oh crap, I just realized that a 6th grader could wear this dress. Ahahahhaahhahahahaha. I walk out to see Peyton with 3 teal dresses. Carrying them in an awkward position. She drops them in awe of me. "Excuse me miss, you have to buy those now, since they've been dropped on the floor." The worker said. "I was going to buy them anyway. Psh." Peyton responds. After we buy them and our shoes, I got baby pink rhinestoned high heels, we go to Starbucks. Where I see Zach, and sitting down in front of him is.... Amanda Curry? That is insane. Then I watch as he does a swift move and grabs a flower from a pot and says "Will you be my homecoming date?" I immediately drop my drink and storm off with tears rummaging down my face. I sit in the car and Peyton comes after me and sits inside her Wrangler. She looks at me, "Lex, Zach didn't deserve you. You're a fun, loving, amazing girl. You don't need Zach." I smile knowing she's trying to make me feels better. I tell her to start driving home. Which she did. Homecoming is tomorrow. I needed to find Weston.
