Chapter 17

I ran to her cupping her face in my hands. "NURSE !", I yelled while 2 nurses ran into the room. "What's going on ?", she responded worriedly grabbing a whole bunch of things off the cart. "Sorry but your going to have to leave the room, DOCTOR !", she responded showing me to the door as the doctor ran in and shutting the door in my face. I walked over to the chair outside the door that I usually sat on when they sent me out. This time it felt different. I felt like I was about to shit my pants. What if she wakes up for that second and just went back out of consciousness ? I couldn't bare the thoughts that went through my mind. I wanted to call somebody but I thought it could wait. I wanted to be the one to know for now.

After a while of me pacing back and forth and being yelled at by many nurses and doctors for asking too many questions about when I would get to see Phoebe the door cracked open. I jumped up and the doctor told the nurses to let me have a minute alone with Phoebe. I walked in thinking the worst things. She was sitting up drinking water. I rubbed my eyes. "Derek ", she said smiling weakly. "Phoebe", I nearly fainted. I hugged her tightly not so tight though she wasn't under good condition still. "Phoebe", I said feeling that not in my throat while tears ran down my face. "Never , to that again okay ?". I said releasing her. Now I could actually look in her eyes. Her beautiful eyes. I brushed her hair back kissing her forehead. "Phoebe I thought I lost you", I said pressing her forehead against mine. "I know why you started, it was because of your parents Phoebe, they came to visit you once and left never to return. The only people to actually care about you is Me, Jacob and Leslie. No one else Phoebe. So you can't do this anymore now that you know we love you. I'm sorry for yelling at you but I was upset. Seeing you on the floor Phoebe. Please don't ever do that to me ever again. The feeling that rushed over my body was indescribable. I'm deeply in love with you and your the one I want to be with forever", Her eyes watered. I wiped the moisture off her face feeling her tears made it all seem real to me . God gave her back to me. He heard my prayers. I looked up and whispered thank you. "Who are you thanking Derek?", her voice low and dry. "God", I responded smiling. "Promise it ends here ? Your Self harm ? As long as I'm with you , you'll be safe okay ?", she smiled and nodded. I stuck out my pinkie and she hugged it back with mine. "Get some rest I'll be back in a few minutes I'm going to ask the doctors when I can take you out of this place", I said walking to the door but before I touched the knob she said something. "I saw you", she said. "What?", I responded confused.. "I saw you reading my letter , and me laying down on the floor", she said my heart literally stopped. That's insane. "Get some rest", I responded. I believed her one hundred percent but I don't want to hear that my girlfriend died and found her way back to her body. It hurts me to even think about it. I left the room and went over to the Doc. "Thank you", I shook his hand. Along with the help of the lord the doctor helped too. He smiled. "So when can she come back with me ?", I asked. "In about 2 weeks. We have to give her proteins and build up her energy so that she's healthy enough to get back on her feet", he responded making me instantly smile. "Thank you sir", I walked over to Phoebe's room and saw she was asleep. I sat in the chair next to the bed and took her hand. I shortly fell asleep with a smile on my face knowing I'l have the love of my life back with me.
