Chapter 14

All my classes were over. I walked around the whole campus looking for Derek. Why did he storm out of class like that ? Did I say or do something ? I looked in every lounge . Every shop.  He was nowhere to be found. Just when I was about to give up I spotted him laying down on the hill from a distance. I speed walked over to me, I demanded to know what his problem was. "Hey", I said sitting down next to him waiting for a reaction. He gave no reaction , pretending I wasn't there. "Derek ? What is your problem ?", I forced his eyes to look into mine . "Go ask Demitri", he responded. He put his hands behind his head for support and crossed his legs. A smirk spread across his face. "What are you talking about?", I honestly didn't know what he meant by that. Demitri was just my substitute lab partner. "Just forget it and enjoy your new boyfriend", he said his face suddenly turning serious. I got up grabbing my bag. I nodded my head and he sat up looking at me. I felt my cheeks get red with anger. My eyes watered in frustration. "Your a jerk", I said slowly turning around and walking away. My pace fastened. "Phoebe I didn't mean that", Derek's voice got closer forcing me to turn around. "Then what did you mean ?! Why are you being such a ..!", I semi yelled thinking for a word to describe him. "A Derek !", I shouted whipping off some tears. "I saw you guys giggling and having fun and I got jealous, I mean he guided your hands with his. He should know I will break his fa-", I stopped him. "Derek, your honesty threatened by Demitri the guy I never talked to except for today ? The guy who's number I don't have ? A guy who I have no interest in because all of my interest is in you ?!", I said and he couldn't look me in the eye. I lifted his chin so he was looking at me . He eyes trailed off. "Look at me", I said and he connected his eyes with mine. "What are you so worried about Derek? I don't understand", I didn't break the eye contact. I was trying to read his mind. I wish I could. "Losing you ..", he responded. I think it was sort of cute that he's worried but it worries me that he doesn't trust me enough to be faithful. I hugged him. He wrapped his hands around me and kissed my head. "You have to trust me",  I mumbled into his shoulder. "I'm sorry", he responded.

After that whole incident was solved I went over to Derek's dorm. We watched movies and ate popcorn occasionally kissing when a romantic part came. "Oh man, I forgot I have a quiz tomorrow I, I have to go babe", I said bending down to his level giving him a kiss. I walked to the door and before I could leave he asked me if I wanted him to walk me back but I told him I could handle it. I began walking back to my dorm. I turned the corner and saw a group of guys hanging out and talking about who knows what. My mom always told me A group of guys are always a group of trouble, remembering that I didn't even look at them. "Excuse me", I said trying to go through them to continue my way to my dorm. "Where you going?", they asked me. I shook my head. "Somewhere, please let me past", I said annoyed. "What do we get in return?", one of them said putting his hand on my lower back. "Don't touch me", I stated. They didn't listen. "Don't touch me !", I yelled. "Stop it", I yelled trying to punch on of them in the face but they held my hands and had me against the wall. "Get off of me !", I kneed one of them in the groin . The guy calling me A bitch telling me to prepare for the worst. So I did. Tears falling from my face I squeezed my eyes closed praying for someone to help me. " What the fuck do you think your doing to my girlfriend !", Derek said connected fist to faces with 2 guys at the same time while the other 2 held on to me. One relasead me to go help beat Derek up. I panicked. " Stop it , leave him alone !", the 3 guys punching my lover over and over. I quickly saw Jacob in the corner of my eye with Leslie's boyfriend. "Phoebe!", Jacob said running to the guy thay held me and fighting him while Leslie's boyfriend helped Derek beat the other guys. It was crazy. I immediately went to my dorm advisor telling  her what was happening . The guys went to jail that night. They were charged with assault and attempt of rape. I felt so violated. "Thanks you guys", I said pulling them into a hug. Derek kissed me on the forehead. "I should've walked with you", he said clenching his jaw. I kissed his cheek reassuring him I'm fine. Derek thanked Jacob and Leslie's Boy for the help. I had to get back to my dorm and tell Leslie everything.
