The bell rang. Bob and I went up to the teacher to hand in our lab results before we left. I tried my best to keep my eyes on the ground and tried to walk fast avoiding everyone. "Hey!", I heard a distant voice become closer and closer. I immediately turned around and looked up seeing the new kid . Derek . "What?", I said looking at the floor suddenly. "I didn't catch your name", he said as a smirk spread across his pink lips. " Phoebe but I ..", I said as he interrupted me. " But.. you were too busy staring at me?", he chuckled. I felt my cheeks get warm with embarrassment. "Sorry I didn't mean to stare", I said quickly turning around walking away. "Wait! But I couldn't help but stare back", he said grabbing my arm. I shook him off and started to walk back to my dorm.

I layed on my bed thinking about why this new boy decided to talk to me. I mean people can stare at other's right ? I mean you don't have to remind me. I felt like crying I have so much on my plate right now and to add to stress I embarrass myself in front of this new guy who pops out of nowhere. I felt my phone vibrate. It was Leslie.

- Hey Leslie what's up ?

-- Nothing do you want to hang out with Dustin and I ?

- No, no thank's . I'm a little overwhelmed. Long story ..

-- I can cancel do you want me to ..

I quickly cut her off .

- Absolutely not. Go have fun. I'm fine I swear .

-- Okay ... See you later .

I hung up the phone. I decided to go to the hang out area which I knew would probably be vacant. I quickly stuck my phone in my pocket and grabbed my flip-flops and left my dorm.

I walked in the hang out area and to my surprise Jacob was there. "Can I uh join you ?", I asked biting my lip nervously. "Yeah sure", he said as I joined him on the floor. "What you watching ?", I said folding my legs. "Paranormal Activity", he said as I looked unsure. "Really?", I responded lowly as he looked at me. "Yes, you scared?", he asked looking concerned. "Maybe", I pouted . "Don't worry scardy cat I got you sister", he said putting an arm around me. Matter of fact I always got that kind of brotherly vibe from him anyways. "Thats good to know.. brother ", I replied looking at him slightly smiling.
