Adrien's POV:

Adrien didn't know how his friend's date was going, and he felt bad for leaving, but first he had to figure out some way to get around not being allowed out tonight, and getting out of this ridiculous "outing" with Chloe.

He knew what he had to do.

Standing at the front of his father's study was awful enough, but he had to do something else worse.

Finally having the capability of breathing again, he knocked on the door in front of him.

'Come,' he could hear his father say.

Adrien opened the door to the study and saw his father, bent over something on his desk, not even bother to look up before he said impatiently, 'what is it?'

Adrien coughed and said, 'Chloe invited me to the new amusement park-'

His father turned around at his voice-obviously surprised it wasn't Nathalie-and cut him off, 'You have been doing well in school recently-surprised me, even. This once, seeing as it is Chloe, you may go,' he said, turning around and then added, 'You are excused.'

Adrien stared at him-not what he had expected. Not at all what he had expected.

I guess it gives me a reason to leave though...now just to figure out how to let Chloe know I'm "not allowed to go" to her "amusement park outing."

Walking to Nathalie, waiting, he shook his head and she nodded in understanding-he wasn't allowed to go. She walked away-to find a way to tell Chloe the "sad" news, and Adrien went to his room.

He walked over to his draws and selected a different outfit-not...formal, exactly...but less casual than his normal attire. Fit to impress, he thought happily, and Plagg flew over to him from the table he'd been eating cheese at.

'You look ridiculous,' he said.

'That's not what you're supposed to say,' Adrien said, frowning, arms crossed.

'I have been alive for so much longer than you; I know more, so I know what you're "supposed to say," he said, mimicking Adrien.

'I have been in actual society, with actual, decent people for so much longer than you. I know more, so I know what you're supposed to say,' he replied, annoyed.

Sighing, Plagg murmured a, "whatever" and flew away to continue eating his cheese.

Adrien looked back at his reflection, sighing, suddenly doubtful. 'What am I doing?' he whispered, and went to put his normal clothes on when he heard someone start walking to his room, calling out 'Adrien?'

Abandoning his normal clothes, shoving them under his bed, he darted across the room to his en suite, and hid.

When Nathalie had walked around, searching-without much effort-for him, and left, Adrien said as loudly as he dared, 'Plagg, claws out!' and transformed into his second personality, Chat Noir and snuck out through one of his bedroom windows-he'd pay his punishment later.

He didn't know where he was going, but his feet-and arms-seemed to know where they wanted to go, so he let them take him.

Then, he suddenly recognised one of the buildings, and only then realised it was what he'd been looking for-the bakery...Marinette.

He landed on the roof of Marinette's bedroom, deciding whether to be Chat Noir or Adrien, when he heard someone say, 'Chat Noir?'
