"Hey, you know that boy Jacob, right?"
"Oh. Afro boy right? The one with a bunch of friends that's always around him?"
"Yeah him. Rumor has it that he's dating Michael. You know who that is, right? The lazy guy that never does anything in his classes?"
"Let em hate." Kevin said to me and Serenity. We both were glaring at the group of drama queens sitting one table ahead of us."
"Why is that even their business? Don't they have anything better to talk about?"
"Right tho. Like is their life that boring?" Jeremiah sat in between me and Serenity.
"Aren't you supposed to be working? Why you here??" I tried to push him away.
"Well damn. Can't chill with my friends before I start my shift?"
"Sure you can." Serenity smiled.
"You too nice girl. Hell naw he can't be here. MOVE!!" I yelled, but couldn't hold my urge to laugh. Jeremiah shook his head and laughed right along with me.
"Sup guys." The fake bitch Paisley from a while back waved as she joined the gossip group.
"Bitch, quit talking to us!" I yelled. She rolled her eyes and turned around.
"Fucking ooger." Serenity grabbed her milk carton and threw it at her head.
"WHO DID THAT??" Paisley yelled, looking around. Us and some other people started laughing.
My phone vibrated in my sweater pocket. I pulled it out and. 💚😍Baby👌💖 flashed on the screen.
I stepped out into the hallway and pressed talk.
"Hey babe."
"Hi Mikey."
"Why aren't you in school?"
"It's nothing. I will be back in school tomorrow. Don't worry your brain. I'll be fine."
"Nah. Ain't none of that happening. I'm your boyfriend. I'm supposed to be worried about you. What's going on? Where are you?"
Jacob sighed and sneezed about 8 times in a row.
"Damn! Bless you!"
"Haha. Thanks." Jacob chuckled softly. "I'm in the hospital. You can come see me after school if you'd like."
"Damn, really? Why?"
I started getting dizzy and I was seeing red while I was taking a shower. I nearly passed out. The doctors said I have high blood pressure."
I stared at the phone then grabbed my bag from the cafeteria.
"I'm on my way baby. I'll be there in 30 minutes."
"But No! Its okay. Really."
"No it's not. I'm o my way to you now."
I hung up the bone and left the building.
