"Are we all set to go?" I asked my sisters.
"Yes, go. Before Father catches us" Amelia said, pushing me out the door.
"Or Mother does, I think that's worse" Melody said, I giggled.
"Just get in" Amelia demanded, looking up to our house, which was one of the biggest around. We were wealthy, the only other house to match the size of ours was the King's.
"I don't see why we have to go to this Ball, it's not the Kings" Lily complained, adding, "I should be getting Mother and Father to find me a husband, preferably the Price"
"He wouldn't marry a toad" Melody mumbled. I was the second to oldest, Lily being the eldest. Father had asked many men to meet Lily but they would normally arrive when Lily and Melody started bickering. Melody was the youngest, she was 16. Amelia was 17, we were the closest, I can't stand Lily, she's 19.
"We're near the Ball!" Melody squealed, she was easily distracted, "Do you think the Prince will be there?"
"You never know, no one's seen him... I haven't, even when we went to the King's Ball" I said,
"y/n, that's probably because he avoided you" Lily huffed, she was going to be like this all night. I just don't pay attention to her, she isn't worth it. We stopped at the gates, just like the other guests. The gates we huge, nearly as tall as the house.
"It's huge" Amelia said in awe.
"Ours is bigger, Amelia" Lily huffed, she was like mother, too far up her own backside, perhaps why no one wants to marry her.
"Don't boast" I said, "it doesn't suit you"
"And that dress doesn't suit you but you still wear it"
"Oh, Lily. Grow up" I huffed, we weren't even inside yet and I was already annoyed at her. As we walked through the long corridor I said, "it's just like Gatsby's parties" referring to the book, the long hall and the chandelier was how I imagined the parties in the book. Music could be heard from the gates and colours popped out at you as soon as you reached the doors to the hall.
Once we were in, we all separated, Amelia and Melody went off to the left and Lily just stood in the middle of the doorway. "What are you doing?" I asked, looking at people apologetically as they huffed.
"I want to take in my surroundings while I can and look for the clearest exists" Lily said. She really thinks she knows it all.
"They won't be any if we all have to rush out" I huffed walking away. I wasn't interested in the boys here, I liked the music and the dresses.

I wasn't interested in boys.

Until I found him.

He watched me closely as I walked around the outskirts of the couples dancing. He knew I knew he was watching me. He slowly walked around the crowd until eventually we came face to face. "Hello" he said, his voice soft and at a whisper.
"Hello" I replied, also whispering.
"I'm Tyler" he said.
"Y/n, my sisters are around somewhere" I said, I don't know why I did.
"I bet your the prettiest... Care to dance?" Tyler asked. He guided me to the middle of the floor. The music began to play, it was a slow song, perfect for us. He could dance, I was surprised by that, and he noticed, "You didn't think I could dance?"
"No, it's not that..." I trailed off, not having a point to defend myself.
The music played on and he twirled me around.

But.

It was cut too short when my sisters ran up to me. "Y/n we have to go! Mother and Father are here"
I panicked as I looked from my sisters to Tyler then to where they were dragging me, "how can I find you!" Tyler shouted.
I tried to reply but he was out of sight and we were out in the cold.
Just as I was getting into the carriage I was grabbed by the hand and twirled around. "You scared me" I giggled as Tyler released my hand.
"Sorry, let me take you home..." Tyler said, he looked worried.
"How?"
"I have a horse"
I smiled and he looked relieved. I turned to the carriage and asked Lily, "cover me?"
"Fine" she huffed, I glance at Amelia and Melody and they nodded. If Lily didn't, I knew they would. I waved and they headed down the road as Tyler approached with his horse. It was pure white, only the Prince is known to have a white horse...

A Month Later.
Tyler and I's relationship has never been stronger but we knew my parents would be wanting me to marry. Today was the day I had to tell Tyler I was due to be married. But before I tell Tyler I had to meet the man, who was in fact the Prince.
This was someone I couldn't refuse. I knew that and Tyler would understand that.
"Darling! Are you dressed?" Mother shouted.
"Getting there" I gasped as the house maids were tying my corset. "Oh goodness" I said, holding my stomach.
"Are you alright miss?" One maid asked.
"Women must learn not to breathe" I gasped again.
"I'm sorry miss, I would loosen it if I could" She sighed.
"I know- don't worry about it" I forced a smile.

I walked slowly down the stairs, not wanting to meet the Prince, I only wanted Tyler. I never wanted to marry for money or statues. I wanted to marry for love. I watched my steps as I walked down them, not wanting to fall, not in front of the Prince. Once I reached the bottom I looked up.

Our eyes met.

"Tyler?"
"Y/n?"
"You've met?" They King questioned.
"Yes, father. We met at a Ball, she's the woman I told you about" Tyler explained, not taking his eyes off me for a second. Then he ran to me and pulled me into a hug. Kissing my lips, everything has fallen into place.
"It looks like there's going to be a royal wedding" The King said. He was a lighthearted King but a stern King when needed. A great King.

It was the day before the royal wedding and people of he kingdom were getting excited. Tyler and I had decided to take a ride out into the countryside. We laid on the grass surrounded by flowers. "We worried for nothing" Tyler spoke.
"Yes. I suppose we did" I said, gazing up at the sky. "Why didn't you tell me you were he Prince?"
"I didn't want you to treat me differently" Tyler said.
I nodded, "I don't think I'm ready to be queen" I admitted.
"You'll make a great queen"
"But I wasn't born to be a queen, you were born to be a king"
"Are you having doubts?" Tyler asked.
"No" I said firmly, "I'm just scared people won't like me"
"It's not whether they like you... It's whether you can lead them. And you most certainly can" Tyler said, kissing me.

Thanks for reading!
Sorry it's a bit short. I'm also sorry if it's bad but I'm not too good at that sort of stuff.
