Scott was happy but he was certainly missing something. He had the job he had always wanted but he was missing something.

"We've only have one client today, Emily, should be a short day, hey girl" Scott said to his Dalmatian, rubbing the top of her head. Emily barked and Scott said, "I'm glad you asked, it's at 10:30 and when we're done we'll go for a walk" as Scott said walk Emily barked again, jumping up.

There was a loud frantic knocking at the door and Emily began to growl and bark. Scott tried to calm Emily down before he opened the door.

"I'm sorry. I know your not open yet but my dogs hurt her leg and this was the first place I found on the sat nave" A girl rushed out.

"It's okay, where is your dog?" Scott asked calmly. Walking out and shutting the door to make sure Emily didn't run out.

"In my car, I can't lift him, he's too heavy" She said as she walked quickly to the back of the car.

"What's his name?" Scott asked as the girl opened the boot.

"Pongo, my brother named him" the girl giggled as if remember the day like it was yesterday.

"And what's your name?" Scott asked, examining the dog while he was in the boot just incase. If he moved him without knowing the injury it may make him worse.

"Y/n y/n y/l/n. What's yours? Oh wait it's Dr McCall" y/n said waving her hand about in embracement.

"I prefer Scott" he smiled and said, "He's broken his front leg, nothing too serious, I can move him inside and treat him now"

"Really?!" Y/n said, "I mean about Pongo, you can treat him now?"

"Yes" Scott said, he frowned at how surprised she was or at least how happy. He understood the joy of someone telling you the could treat your pet but there was a deeper connection to the animal that y/n had with Pongo. Scott asked y/n to go inside, he just didn't want her to see him struggle.

"How long have you had this one?" Y/n smiled at Emily.

"Emily? I don't know, way before I had this place" Scott said, referring to the Vets. "Would you like a drink?"

"Tea, I can do it, while you fix Pongo" y/n said while making funny noises at Pongo.

"It's just through there, if you don't mind" Scott said pointing to the right. Y/n walked off to make tea and while she was doing so Scott had placed a cast on Pongo's leg and administered a vaccine for him.

"Oh your already finished" y/n said, disappointed. "I guess we won't need to tea, how much do I owe you?" She asked putting the teas down, clearly trying to hide her joy.

"Oh no, don't worry about it"

"No. I have to pay you" she said, handing over some notes already.

"I'd rather you stay until my shift was over, then we could take Pongo and Emily for a walk, the parks really nice round here" Scott sounded desperate but he didn't care. He had found what he had been missing.

"Alright..." y/n said, trying not to sound too excited but her smile and eyes gave it away.

To both Scott and y/n that was the best day they had ever had, and they also knew there were more to come.
