It wasn't that she didn't like being different, she liked being unusual. But, it wasn't easy. Every month she would disappear, people would tease her for it but she couldn't help it. If she didn't leave for a few days, people would get hurt. A lot of people could. She would usually go deep into the forest, there she would find her Alpha. Her Alpha had changed over the years but he would always be hers, he understood her. He was able to control the monster that crept up from under her skin each month.

This month it was different, there was someone else here. She felt a surge of anger run through her, she didn't want Scott here. That was her first assumption, Scott would make her come home and tell her she would be fine. He wouldn't understand. She was getting herself too worked up, she dropped her overnight bag, knelt down and placed her hands on her thighs and breathed slowly. In through the nose and out through the mouth. It was one of her breathing exercises. She had often used it in the bathroom of the school when her 'classmates' would become too much for her. Obviously, that wasn't a good enough release and she would turn to something more violent, not to others but to herself. She had begun to learn that her werewolf self would protect her from her other self. Therefore, her other self would outsmart her werewolf self---

"y/n?" came a voice about 3 feet away. She opened her eyes and saw Isaac. "Are you alright?" he asked.

"Yes," she said, almost robotically, Isaac sensed she wasn't. But, it didn't take a werewolf to figure that out. Or, perhaps it did. "I thought you were Scott" she explained.

"Oh," he nodded, but not understanding. He didn't ask why, he knew about her. "Do you- do you wanna come inside?" he asked, edging closer to her. She stood up, and as Isaac reached for her bag so did she. "Oh- er- I was gonna-" he cut himself off after stuttering through the unfinished sentence. y/n allowed him to take her bag inside, her eyes fixed on it. He placed it at the side of the door inside and walked further into the house. "So, this is where you come every month," he said, attempting conversation.

"Yes," she said.

"At least it has a roof, right?" he joked but y/n didn't react. She only watched his movements.

"Where's Derek?" she asked finally.

"He said he'd be back before you arrived... but..." he looked around, showing her he wasn't there, then shrugged. "Do you want a drink?" he asked.

"No, thank you," said y/n, still with the same tone as before. She wasn't used to new people so suddenly, she had always planned everything. Little changes sometimes scared her, it never brought out the werewolf side of her but the other demon certainly surfaced. y/n took a seat on one of the old metal chairs still there. Hardly any of the furniture was still standing and whatever was left usually ended up being destroyed. y/n looked around, that's probably where Derek is, she thought, getting new chairs.

"Can I ask you something?" Isaac asked looking hopefully and slightly scared. He wasn't scared of her, he was scared of scaring her away.

"Depends what it is," she said, Isaac looked at her, she then said, "yeah sure." y/n forced a smile, which didn't make Isaac relax.

"Derek told me that you- er- refer to your werewolf self as someone separate..."

"That wasn't a question" y/n said, now she was getting defensive and the wall was beginning to get even higher.

"I'm just curious that's all-"

"Curiosity killed the cat" y/n mumbled, due to Isaacs werewolf abilities he heard her.
