(A/N For shoutaeeh. I've totally forgot this OTP name, but I'm pretty sure that's what it is. If it's not, it seems legit.
SUPER DUPER IMPORTANT ANNOUNCEMENT #1: If you enjoy the storyline, it was shoutaeeh's idea, so I give her the credit. It's really amazing, and I'd love to take credit for it, but I can't. It wouldn't be honest.

"Just go away!" Xiumin yelled.
"I didn't mean to! It was a joke! I swear!" Tao pleaded, not understanding why Xiumin was so upset.
"Well I sure don't seem to be laughing, now do I?" Xiumin asked sarcastically.
"Sorry? I guess?" Tao said. Xiumin rolled his eyes, saying that he just didn't get it. "What?!"
"Maybe we should just stop. Stop being friends. Friends don't do that kind of stuff. Bye, Tao," he said sternly, although still wiping years from his eyes. He stormed off and Tao just stood there. Watching him. He actually laughed. It was a joke. And it was hilarious.

"Oh my gosh! What'd you do?!" Kris asked after hearing what Xiumin said to Tao.
"I told one of my friends that he still sleeps with a night light and a teddy bear..."
"Just one?" Kris asked accusingly.
"Ok fine! I told a lot of people! But it's not that bad!"
"Tao, what if you still played with barbies and I told everyone? How'd you feel?"
"I don't play with barbies!!"
"But if you did. And I told everyone in our grade."
"I guess I'd hate you too!" Tao shouted. "I just...wasn't thinking! Why can't he understand that?!"
Kris was obviously pissed. "Tao. It's not something he needs to understand. It's something you need to fix. Just deal with it, I'm getting a headache. Bye bye!"
Tao huffed and sat down. 'What the heck was that supposed to mean? Something I need to fix?' he asked himself. He just rolled his eyes and began studying.
~.~.~.~.~.~.~.~.~.~.~.~.~.~
Tao saw Xiumin walking up to the front if the school alone. He ran up to him. "Hey Xiu! What's up?" he asked cheerfully. Xiumin rolled his eyes, ignored Tao, and just kept walking.
"Umm, Earth to Xiumin? Best friend speaking?"
"Best friend or worst enemy? I thought I said we weren't friends anymore." Xiumin sped up, leaving Tao along. Some kids passed by Xiumin, pointing and laughing at him. Calling him names- babyish and bad names alike.
Tao totally felt he deserved it. How could Xiumin be so cold? Tao honestly thought it was funny, it wasn't that big of a deal!
~.~.~.~.~.~.~.~.~.~.~.~.~.~
Tao seemed to prove himself wrong. Over the next couple of days, Xiumin totally ignored him. He felt really bad and always wanted to talk to him, but any time when Tao got near him, he immediately left. No matter what the circumstance!
"Xiumin! Do you know when the test on Units 7-9 is?" Tao asked.
Xiumin walked away.
"Do you know what time the minimum day gets put tomorrow?" Tao asked.
Xiumin walked away.
This pattern continued for days...until Tao finally got sick of it.
"Xiumin. Why don't you even look at me anymore?"
This time Xiumin froze. He turned around sharply, glared at Tao and starting yelling, "OH MY GOD! TAKE A HINT! I OBVIOUSLY DON'T WANT YOU AROUND ME ANYMORE NO MATTER HOW EFFING ANNOYING YOU GET!" Tao open his mouth to say something, but Xiumin started walking towards him angrily. At each word, he moved a step closer to Tao,yelling, "AND BY THE WAY, I DON'T EXACTLY CARE WHAT YOU WANNA SAY, OKAY?! IF YOU ARE HONESTLY THAT COLD TO GO AROUND TELLING EVERYONE ABOUT ME, THEN I DON'T EVEN WANT TO SEE YOUR FACE AGAIN!" He spun around to start walking away, but turned back. "And just if you wanted to know, I HATE YOU!"
Then he stormed off.
Leaving the entire school laughing at Tao. Said panda boy ran off right after and found Kris and dragged him to his house before he even let him talk to him.
"What's wrong?!" Kris asked worriedly.
"Xiumin said he hates me!" Tao shouted. He began crying. He sat down and just cried. "I don't know why, but I suddenly feel bad, and it hurts me to look at him and I HATE the fact that he hates me because I just want to hang out with him and play together and study together like we always did! I never wanted this to happen!" he screamed.
Kris was silent, thinking this over. "I'm not going to tell you anything. All I'm gong to say, though, is that you will never, and I mean NEVER feel this way about any one else ever again." And with that said he stood up and just...walked away.
Tao was confused. Never feel this way again?
He had only heard anyone say that...when they were...in love?
Hell no.
He wasn't in love with Xiumin! Love is a crazy, stupid thing and...he couldn't even think about it.
He just sat there with his eyes closed and fingers on his temples thinking for at least an hour.
He called Kris.
"Hello?"
"Did you mean you think that I'm in love?"
He heard Kris laugh. "So the panda does have a brain!"
"Just cause I don't use it that often doesn't mean it's not there!" Tao said jokingly. "Thank you Kris!"
"No problem." And with that, they hung up.
Tao smiled and sat down. He was in love!
He giggled. "I'm in love, I'm in love AND I DON'T CARE WHO KNOWS!" he said happily to himself. He grabbed his phone and tried to text Xiumin.
'This user had blocked you from text, video chat, and all other communication on this device'
Tao sighed. Screw it, he knew there Xiumin lives.
He walked merrily to Xiumin's house. Once he was there, he knocked on the door happily. When Xiumin opened the door, he slammed it right on Tao's face. Tao frowned. "Can you at least listen to me?" he asked gently.
Xiumin seemed to think it over before mumbling, "Go on..."
Tao put his back against the door and slip down to his knees, sighing loudly. "I want to apologize for what I did. I wasn't thinking...I just...I don't even know, but you have to understand that I will do anything for you to forgive me!"
Xiumin sighed. "Come in. The door's unlocked..." Tao jumped up and opened the as quick as he could.
They just stood there for a second. Out of nowhere, Xiumin bitch-slapped Tao. He then smiled. "I feel slightly better now."
"Could've been worse," Tao said, shrugging. He went on, "I meant it you know. I will do anything for you to forgive me..."
"Just buy me yogurt and we're good," Xiumin shrugged. "There is a really good fro yo place around here somewhere..." Xiumin said.
"Really?! That's it?!"
"No. I just need to be in a better mood and I am sorta broke..."
"Oh..." Tao laughed. "Okay..."
Xiumin walked past him and into the car. Tao sat in the passengers seat. "Don't be so happy. I'm still pissed at you." Tao's smile disappeared. And they drove off to get for yo.
~.~.~.~.~.~.~.~.~.~.~.~.~.~
"What kind did you get?" Tao asked.
"Vanilla with caramel..." Xiumin said softly. Tao smiled, he was quite cute, Tao thought.
"Cool!" he said. ^__^
Xiumin sighed. "Yep..."
"Don't be so entusiastic!" Tao said sarcastically.
Xiumin narrowed his eyes and tilted his head. "Can you not?" he asked.
"No what?"
Just then, a group of kids walked in. "HHEYY! It's the big-baby!" one of them said. The rest of them cracked up and Xiumin looked down at his yogurt.
"What? Someone gonna cry about it?" a girl asked, I mutating a baby voice.
All of Tao's anger boiler up right then. He jumped up. "Do you want to die?!" he asked angrily.
"Defending him, huh? Weren't you the one who got him into this mess?"
"So what if I am?" he asked. He seemed to notice these kids weren't giving up anytime soon and grabbed Xiumin's hand. "Lets go."
~.~.~.~.~.~.~.~.~.~.~.~.~.~
"What was that for?!" Xiumin asked hysterically.
"Wh-what?" Tao asked. Xiumin was silent the entire car ride home and now he explodes?
"Why'd you stand up for me?! It made me look worse, like I can't handle my own problems!" Xiumin screamed.
"S-Sorry, I was just trying t-to help..." Tao stuttered.
"Seriously?!" he screamed even louder. "You know what, I think I still hate you. Get out of my house."
Tao stood there, shocked. He finally found his senses and left to go to Kris's house.
~.~.~.~.~.~.~.~.~.~.~.~.~.~
"What am I supposed to do???" Tao asked Kris frantically. "I was trying to help him and it just made him hate me even more!"
"Tao. Please calm down..." Kris said soothingly. "You just need to give him a chance. I think he's still pretty shaken up over this incident."
"But I don't want to wait!" Tao shouted, realizing he was crying. "Oh god help me..."
"Want some cocoa?"
"Please..." Tao sniffled.
~.~.~.~.~.~.~.~.~.~.~.~.~.~
So for the next couple of days, Xiumin did not speak to Tao, he did not acknowledge Tao, he did not even look at Tao.
So guess who got upset? Tao.
There seems to be a pattern here...
One day Tao jtst couldn't take it anymore and started following Xiumin home. Xiumin had earbuds in so he didn't notice Tao. When they got to his doorstep, Tao tapped his shoulder.
He turned around, bit when he saw Tao, his eyes glared and tried to shut the door on his face, but Tao was too quick. "Go away!" Xiumin yelled. Tao started crying.
"Just hear me out..." he pleaded between sobs. Xiumin rolled his eyes and let Tao in.
Once they were inside, they sat down across from each other on the floor and tai sighed. "Go on..." Xiumin said in a monotone.
"Um...ok," Tao said. He had no idea where to start. "So...I just wanted to say that...I'm really sory. I never meant for any of this to happen and I know now that I did the STUPIDEST thing anyone could possibly do. I should've just kept my mouth shut. This is all my fault, and I'm really sorry..." Tao started crying and Xiumin just looked at him blankly. "Say something!"
"Promise..." he said, "to never do this again..."
"I promi-"
"You know, you promised the first time, I'm done with this. I just can't trust you anymore," Xiumin said. Tao was insanely confused.
"What about a second chance?" he asked.
"You are beyond second chances, Tao," he said. And with that he headed off toward his room. Tao jumped up and ran at him. He grabbed his hand and fell to his knees.
"Xiumin please don't do this! Please don't shut me out like this!" he pleaded. "You can't... PLEASE!!"
"Why can't I?" Xiumin asked.
"Becayse I love you!" Tao blurted. "I've loved you forever and ever but I never realized it until I nearly lost you and I just can't let you shut me out because we have to be together forever because I love you and you can't change that!" Tao screamed, crying harder than ever.
Xiumin was shocked. His hand slipped away from Tao's. "I'm so sorry..." Xiumin whispered. He pulled Tao up and enveloped him in a hug. "I never told you either and I just...second guessed myself after that incident..."
"What?" Tao asked, totally and fully confused.
Xiumin laughed and said,
(spaces for dramatic effect)
"I LOVE YOU TOO, YOU JERK!"
