Update: Still bad at writing
I was gonna write one where Castiel had his grace taken away and he grows old with Dean, and when is about to die he gets his grace back and takes his sole to heaven, where he spends eternity with him, which was inspired by an imagine tumblr post, and I was gonna name is Age Without Grace, but I totally forgot and it turned into this.
"Dean."
Dean picked up his phone and heard Castiels voice on the other end, making him panic. He hadn't heard from him in so long all he could think about was if Cas was okay. He glanced at Sam, who was nose deep in research. Dean went into his bedroom and shut the door.
"Cas! Is everything alright?" He replied anxiously.
"Dean, my grace, it's gone."
"What do you mean gone?"
"Metatron. He tricked me, he needed my grace as part of the spell to cast out the angels."
Dean could hear Castiels voice shaking, he was scared. He has been on earth for six years, but as an angel. Without his grace he doesn't have his powers, he can't protect himself. Now with every angel on the ground, He's in trouble. Most of them want to hunt him down and kill him, or worse.
"So you're human now?" Dean couldn't help but wonder if things could be different. As an angel, Castiel didn't have feelings. But now he must be rushing with emotion, everything is different for him now.
"Technically, yes. Dean, I need help. Where are you?"
"At the bunker."
"Ok, I will meet you there, I might not be there until tomorrow, I might have to take a bus."
There was disappointment in his voice.
After waiting on the side of the road for three hours, Cas finally waved down a truck. He had been to the bunker many times he knew exactly where it was.
Dean couldn't wait for Cas to arrive, he hadn't seen his best friend in forever. Right after he got off the phone he told Sam, maybe a little too enthusiastically, hopefully not giving much away. He rushed to the kitchen and started to clean. He cleaned the entire base before he heard a knock on the door, which echoed throughout the place.
Sam was about to get the door just before Dean rushed out the stairs and jumped in front of him, opening the door instead.
Sam jolted back but scoffed.
"Cas!" Dean said with a wide smile on his face.
"Dean!"
He took his friend into his arms and took in the fact that they were really there. After all this time and what they had been through, it was kind of hard to believe.
After about thirty seconds, Sam cleared his throat, hinting at them to pull away and quit making him the third wheel.
Cas walked into the bunker and hugged Sam as well.
They all walked down the stairs and sat at the table. After hours of laughing and catching up, it was already 11:00.
"Im going to bed, I'll see you guys tomorrow." Sam said as he stood up.
"Okay, goodnight Sam." Said Cas.
"Hey Dean?"
He said when Sam left.
"Yeah?"
"Where do I sleep?"
This wasn't the first time Cas has spent the night, but he never asked because he never needed to sleep. Dean was still getting used to him as a human, kind of giggling at the thought, he still had a lot to learn.
"You can sleep in my room." He said without really thinking. He blushed when he realized what he just said, hoping Cas wouldn't take that one way.
"Okay." Cas said.
Dean exhaled remembering to breathe.
"I can sleep on the floor." Cas' eyes started to beam,
"Can I make a fort?" He said that like a little kid, which made Dean smile and laugh.
"Only if I can help." He answered.
They brought every pillow, blanket, and cushion they could find into Deans room, and put them on the floor. They tried almost every fort design they could think of until they found one Cas liked.
When they were finished, Cas threw himself on the pillow, which acted as a mattress and motioned Dean to join him. Dean jumped and landed beside him, both men laughing. It was a tight fit but they didn't mind. Castiel latched the blanket that hung on the side above them which made a ceiling.
They just talked for a while, about Sam, about being human. Cas fell asleep and Dean laid there looking at him for a few minutes before getting into his own bed.
He listened to the angel snoring quietly, it made him smile. He was getting tired and almost dozed off when he felt the bed weigh down next to him. He turned onto his side and saw Cas getting underneath the covers.
"What happened to the fort?" Dean asked, his voice was really quiet and soft from being tired.
Cas replied in the same tone. "I wanted to be with you."
The angels voice made Dean wrap his arms around him.
Cas snuggled up against him in return and laid his head in the crook of his neck.
They didn't say anything after that because they knew exactly what one another was thinking.
Dean smiled when Cas started snoring again, and fell asleep along with him.
