Becoming kicker

I ran out onto the field. Then I over to the ball while Colton holds it in place. I back up and run straight for it and kick the football. I stood back and watched it soar through the air.

And into the yellow goal it goes. It went way over the goal. It hit the locker room building 50 feet away. The whole football team had just arrived and all eyes had been on me. That's how it's done boys. Their mouths were wide open. All three coaches were the exact same way but they quickly recovered.

Sarah had arrived after school ended to watch and she was in the bleachers. I looked over and she was shocked too. I walked back over to all the coaches. The head coach, Coach Smith, started off, suddenly speechless "Th-that was awesome."

Then it was Coach Mims turn, the althetic directors "Okay Harrell, looks like we just found our new kicker"
Next Coach Bozeman spoke,"kid that was awesome, you'll do great"
"Thank you" I spoke out.

The football team was still shocked. Austin and Blake, ran up to me and hugged me. Then they congratulated me even though they had no idea I was even doing this. I thanked them. Kyle came up to me and he dragged Bryan along.
"Congrats on becoming kicker, Kylee, that was amazing. And as a sophomore to be on Varsity. Wow. Especially being a girl. Wow just wow. You'll do great things" Kyle said. He really is a sweet kid. Too bad he's a senior. He's really hot. Bryan stepped forward and said "congrats" and with that, he walked away.

"Sorry about Bryan, I don't know what's wrong with him lately"
"I think I might know, you see yesterday him and John came up to me after football tryouts. Bryan said 'hey hottie' and I asked him if that's all he knew how to say. I kinda snapped on him. Then John said 'ohh boy she snapped on u' Then I said at least Bryan  knows how to talk to girls instead of just being a loner' then I flipped my hair and walked away"
"You did that?"
"Yeah" then Kyle bust out laughing. Uggh,boys  -_-  so annoying.
"Yeah, so uh Bryan kinda had a crush on you in Middle school but you kinda never noticed him."
"Of course I noticed him, he's my best friends twin brother. He's around all the time and annoying"
"Annoying, you got that right"
"Do you think he still likes me?"
"So you like him?"
"I NEVER said that"
"Okay okay. Well its a little hard to tell but yeah I think so."
"Oh, okay then" Then Sarah came over.
"Hey congrats Kylee. That kick was way cool. It was amazing."
"Thanks, I saw how it made you shocked.Your mouth formed an O shape"
"Ohh shut up" she said while giggling.

Kyle went off to find Bryan, Sarah went off to find Kyle, and I went off to find Austin and Blake. I found them shortly after we all showed and we headed home.When we got there ALL the trucks were there. Mike's, Alex's, Aunt Tina and Uncle Ash's truck, grandma and grandpa's truck, Kyle's truck, and my cousin Kade's truck.
"You guys told mom I made kicker, huh?"
"Yeah, sorry about that. Oh and cause the baby"
"Ehh its okay, I was gonna tell her but...now the whole family's here"

I hate my family. Okay well I love em but my brother's, my mom, and my cousin Kade are really only the one's I can stand for more than half an hour. When we get out of Austin's truck, I can hear pounding music. It sounds like....ohh, I know, country music. When we walk in everyone cheers and screams: "Congratulations Kylee"

"Thank you and thank you all for coming"

I slowly start to move from one person to another saying hi and just catching up. Then after about two hours I get tired and head upstairs to my room. When I get to my door I open it and walk in, but what I see next is just beyond words.
