After Brad had recovered himself from crashing into the drum set, he started to run after Matt.
"Brad, no. He's angry with you. I'll calm him down, okay?" Neil said as he placed a hand on Brad's shoulder.
"Alright," Brad agreed. Neil left the room to find Matt.
He found him smoking by the side of the building.
"What do you want?" Matt snapped when he saw Neil.
Neil was hurt by Matt's words, and figured it safer to keep his distance.
"Matt, you know that's not what Brad meant. He loves you, you know. You are the closest brothers I've ever met."
"I'm just a replacement," Matt spat, "Nobody loves me. The fans don't, Brad doesn't, and you definitely don't."
Neil had to hold back tears by that point. "Matt, I love you more than anything. Anything. I'd do anything for you, and I don't know where I'd be without you. I love you, Matt. Please understand that."
Matt snorted. "Words are just words, Neil."
"I show you I love you with more than words." Neil was struggling to keep his voice calm.
"Sure." Matt took another long drag from his cigarette.
"Matt, please. Just come back inside. It's going to be okay," Neil promised.
"You don't know what Gyselvia told me," Matt replied, "I'm a danger to everyone around me."
"That's not true," Neil said.
"Gyselvia warned me that if I don't find a way to control my anger, I'm going to hurt everyone, Neil." Matt stomped out the cigarette.
"Matt... what?"
"She was finally able to stutter out a prophecy about it earlier. I wasn't supposed to tell you anything about it, but you can keep it secret, right?" Matt asked.
"Alright. Let's hear it," Neil replied.
"The demons of blood and hate are fuelled by your anger,
I can only warn you of your danger.
It can't be stopped, it won't be controlled,
You can't save yourself from the corruption of your soul."
"Corruption of your soul... what the hell does that mean?!" Neil yell-whispered.
"She doesn't know," Matt sighed, "She can't see everything."
"What do you mean, it can't be stopped? Of course it can be stopped!" Neil was frantic. I can't lose him.
"A choice I made ruined the happy ending where the corruption thing is avoided entirely. So now we're going to have to deal with whatever I become, and find a way to fix it," Matt explained.
"We'll find a way. I won't lose you, Matt," Neil promised.
"You can't guarantee that. Every choice that is made opens new possibilities and makes others impossible."
"I don't care, I promise it will be okay."
Neil and Matt hugged before heading back inside.
......
Gyselvia had had a psychic dream again.
Damn it, Matt! Okay, Gyselvia, calm down, he didn't know that would have made it turn out this way.
She threw every one of the papers on her desk into the recycling.
So now that it's certain he'll become... that, I just have to figure out how to save him from it.
I'm going to have to tell the guys now, which sucks, because that's a lot to think about.
She scribbled out words into her notebook. No, No, No.
You have to do this, Gyselvia! You can't let some of the only people who have ever been kind to you down.
......
