"Condy, I love you. You know what? Just give me the rock and I'll make you happy. I promise." I look up to his beautiful eyes and all the old memories flood back. The memories when we were happy and having fun together. He made me so happy. I smile a little to myself. I take the rock out my back pocket and it's glowing even more than before. I stare at it as my gears turn and make a decision.

"Devin," He looks hopeful. "I want you to make me happy," I slowly close my fist. "but I know you can't. Karina go hide this." I give her the rock and she runs off.

"You just made a bad decision."

"I made the right decision." He tries to run but I stop him. He pushes me out the way and runs again. I jump on his back and tackle him. He rolls over on top of me and holds down my hands to the ground.

"Condy you don't want to mess with me. Just stop, ok?" He hops up but I grab him by his leg and he falls. Karina is out of sight and I feel hopeful. Devin turns around with an apologetic expression then kicks me in my face. I let go of his leg to hold my face and he runs off.

That very second my heart honestly broke, into millons and millions of pieces. That very second I knew the Devin Gordon I used to know, was gone. That very second all the feelings I kept bottled up turned to anger. I hate Devin Gordon and I will do whatever it takes to make sure he can never come back.

I wipe my nose from blood and sprint as fast as I can the way Devin went. The adrenaline and determination kept me going. A few seconds into the woods it looked more like a rainforest. Over some leaves I saw his hair and followed him. Then he stopped and I heard his voice.

"Hey there," He says all soft and sweetly. "you wanna give me that rock?" I look over and see Karina shake her head. Once we make eye contact I mouth for her to throw it over the ledge of the waterfall. She nods and throws it. Everything seems to go in slow motion. Devin shoves her out the way and catches the rock midair but falls down the waterfall. Karina screams because she's hanging off the edge. I run over and get her before it's too late. There's no sign of Devin over the edge.

"It's ok, you tried." I comfort her. She motions to get down so I let her stand. She pulls a piece of paper out her back pocket.

"Marisia wanted me to give this to you." I open the paper and it reads:

Dear Condy,
If you're reading this I'm probably dead, but that's ok. It was meant to happen. Also if you're reading this, you're probably in the dream world right now. You're going to have to trust and believe me on this, ok? Follow my directions very carefully. Firstly, just leave Karina here. She's safer here, if you bring her with you, she'd just slow you down and you have a job to do. Once she's on the outside world, she can and most likely will die. Please leave her here. Secondly, hiding the rock won't work at this point. I have a feeling Devin is off somewhere with the rock. This is what you need to do: Lead Devin back to the real world. Once he's with you there, break his rock. You'll know what to do next. Good luck Condy.

Sincerely, Marisia

Karina looks up at me with a small smile. Then she waves and walks off into the dream world. I take a deep breathe and close my eyes. A hand on my shoulder makes me jump. I turn around to see an old lady.

"Are you Condy?" She asks with her frail voice and I nod. "Take this." She places a small bag in my hand and closes it. "Good luck, you're doing something great." She walks away. I open the bag and purple dust forms into arrows pointing in a path. I follow them and it leads to an alley that brought me to a city. It had tall gray buildings and was raining but I didn't feel it until I got out the alley. I explored around and wandered into a coffee shop.
