Third person.
Louis cried himself to sleep again that night. He missed his Harry. Yes, he knew he could just go and see the boy during visiting hours but it just wasnt the same.
He wanted the old Harry back. And he didn't mean nerdy Marcel, he meant Harry.
The Harry he visited in the hospital.
Suddenly, his phone rang, blanking his mind for a second before he picked it up, answering with a groggy "Hello?"
"Louis, get here immediantly.." Ashe was speaking in a urgent whisper and it sounded like she had been crying earlier.
"What's happened?"
"Just hurry!" Ashe quickly hung up, leaving Louis confused.
--
When Louis arrived at the hospital, he counted the cars as he always had. 17.. Which was one more than usual.
He looked confusedly at the new and unfamiliar car. He sat, trying to remember it as he heard a scream.
He turned to the building, alarmed as he began running/walking towards, worried. Then he stopped in place once he heard a gunshot.
More screaming flooded his ears and he ran in, jumping over the bodies beneath him. Tears were streaming down his cheeks as he ran, praying to god Harry was okay.
He reached Harry's room by going up the stairs and ran in, shutting the door and walking over to them. Harry was curled up with Ashe and the nurses in the corner to the right of the door, so if the shooter looked in he wouldn't be able to see them.
"What's h-happening?" Louis whispered and Ashe shook her head.
"Just sit down, Louis" Ashe spoke quietly but Louis frowned.
"No, I wanna know what's happ-" he was cut off by gunshots that sounded remotely close and Harry's eyes widened.
"Louis sit down, ba-"
"NO! I wanna know what's happening!" Louis yelled and Harry looked quite taken aback before more tears began streaming down the younger boys face.
Louis looked around, peeking slightly out the door. He turned back around.
"If were lucky he won't come. We've just gotta be quiet, that's all."
They were all silent for a moment, all of them staring at Louis when suddenly the door opened and one of the nurses screamed for Louis to move.
The shooter smirked, pulling Harry up to his feet and against the wall where he aimed his gun at his forehead before Louis quickly ran over, stepping in front of Harry.
"Babe move."
"No. Let him kill me."
"Babe move!"
The guy was still smirking and he shrugged, pulling the trigger and shooting Louis in his stomach before running out.
Harry screaming Louis's name was the last thing the older boy heard as he collapsed to the floor, his eyes searching around frantically.
"Babe. Babe speak to me." Harry was crying hard, tugging on Louis's shirt, but he didn't reply.
"Harry, get him on the table!" Ashe said, helping Harry and the other nurses pick Louis up and set him on the table, using the first aid kit to try to help him back.
Louis's eyes were open but they were clouded and frantically searching around, a slight twitch to them.
"Louis, stay with us.." Ashe spoke, her voice quivering as she wiped medicine across his wound, ready to open him up, but Louis passed out whilst she was telling the other nurses what she needed.
Harry stood close by, whimpering silently to himself. He elevated Louis's head with his own large hands, as the older boys head had clanged against the table when he blacked out.
The other nurses came out with the materials needed, spreading them out on the table for Ashe while she worked, slowly slicing Louis's abdomen open.
The sight of even more blood was too much for Harry to handle and he, after only a matter of minutes, passed out on the floor, his body making a noise when he hit the floor.
"He's fine. Leave him and help me with Louis" Ashe spoke firmly and the others nodded, gathering around her.
She worked hard, trying not to show how scared she was of the man with the gun, she heard police sirens and tried to ignore it.
Sweat was rolling down her face as she got the bullet out and she desperately sewed him back up, sealing him safely.
Once done she took a step back, breathing hard. Her mind went blank.
"Get the.. The uh... The heart machine thing.."
The others understood and two of them ran, wheeling it back to her afterwards. She hooked up its many wires to Louis, her breathing heavy and shaky as a small beeping begin.
He was alive.
"Louis.. Louis wake up." She shook him but he didn't even stir.
"Ashe.. We can get him home in the ambulance, he needs rest, and he can't get it here."
"I have to save him!" Ashe screamed, glaring at the nurse who had spoken up.
Alexis, the nurse, stepped back, nodding.
"I have NEVER lost someone! Especially from a gun wound. He HAS TO STAY HERE!" Ashe was crying, shutting her eyes tight.
No one moved forward to comfort her.
Then suddenly, her eyes opened. "I.. I quit."
"Ashe.. Yo-"
"Shut up, Alexis! God, do you even know how to be quiet?!"
And with that, Ashe stormed out. And that was it.
Ashe was gone.
The once limp body on the table moved and everyone, except Harry, looked back to Louis.
"Do you think he'll wake soon?" Alexis spoke quietly, looking back down before looking to the other nurses, all guys now.
"Hopefully." Elijah and Matthew spoke at the same time, not breaking their gaze at Louis.
Alexis nodded, looking back down.
