Chapter 17

Mikey choked on a sob and he hugged Pinkie. "I-I'd thought you were gone..."

She hugged up back, tears dripping onto his back. "I'd never leave you..."

Rainbow arched her back, wings standing straight up as she started to scream in agony, memories flooding into her head. She dropped the syringes, shattering and spreading the drugs all over the place.

Twilight looked around in alarm. "No no NO! The plan was PERFECT!"

"I guess it wasn't." Raph smirked, pushing AJ off him easily despite the bite marks on his legs and neck. AJ tried to pin him down but he placed a gentle hoof over her mouth, causing her to pause. He pulled her into a hug, flushing as most of the room turned to look at him. When she moved he held her tighter and she relaxed, letting out a sad breath.

"I'm sorry..." She whispered.

"It's okay..." He stroked her mane.

Twilight backed away from the window. Rainbow grabbed her tail in her teeth when the alicorn tried to fly away and pulled her back into the room. Fluttershy growled and held the chainsaw above Rainbow's head, about to bring it down on her when Leo grabbed her hooves from behind. She screamed and he slowly turned the chainsaw off, setting it on the ground.

"Shhh..." Leo gently stroked her mane, something he'd learned during his two moons here. The tenseness faded from her muscles and she slowly relaxed into the hug.

He looked up, glaring at Twilight who was being held down by Rainbow. "Face it. You've been defeated."

She panted as she looked around the group but froze.

Donnie was on his side, breathing shallowly. Pinkie and Mikey were beside him, trying to get him to stand but bleeding heavily from the stab wound in his side.

Something sparked in the back of her eyes and tears started to fall down her cheeks as she ran forward and wrapped her hooves around Donnie's neck, lifting him up.

He looked up at her and smiled weakly. "You're back..." He whispered.

'I'm sorry... I'm so sorry just please don't leave me..." 

He reached up and set a hoof on her cheek, slightly smearing blood along it. "You're still.. So beautiful..." He whispered before starting to cough violently.

"Donnie? Donnie?!" She cried panickedly.

His entire body trembled and his breathing got weaker and weaker before his muscles gave out and he fell limp in her arms. 

"DONNIE!" She screamed and started to cry into his fur. Silence fell over the library save for Twilight's heartbroken sobbing.
