Andy's POV:
I was doing my afternoon stretches preparing for the show, but it was hard to focus because I was worried for my friend Anthony. He should have been at rehearsal an hour ago, but he isn't. If Paul, our director, found out he'd have his head because lateness was unacceptable.
Before I could think another thought I see Anthony bursting through the room out of breath.
"Man, where have you been? You're an hour late! Paul has been looking for you like crazy. Lucky for you I covered your ass saying you were running an errand for me." Being the star of the show I could get away with that.
"I'm sorry Andy I ran into a girl, quite literally, and knocked all of her stuff out. She's just moving here and I couldn't just leave her alone to pick up everything. After all it was my fault for bumping into her and I felt bad."
Anthony sits down to stretch along side me, "well you couldn't flirt later?"
"I wasn't flirting! Plus she only thinks of me as a kid, she doesn't even know I'm on Broadway. I think you'd like her because apparently she's a sign language teacher."
"Oh, at a high school?" I figured she actually taught ASL to a bunch of teens because that was common at some high schools.
Anthony shakes his head, "no she is an elementary school teacher for the deaf and hard of hearing. It's her first year, she just got out of college. She seemed really nice when I helped her move into her apartment--"
"Woah woah woah, you were in her apartment?"
"Only at the door, I helped her carry three large boxes up three flights of stairs. Andy, I think she thinks I'm a jock."
Andy snorts at that remark, "why would she think that?"
"Well I sort of gave her that impression. I mean I didn't want her to freak out that I'm some famous Broadway star. You know how some girls get when they find out."
He nods understanding, after all he was the star of the show so it was much worse for him.
"Did you get her number?"
"No, besides I'll probably never see her again..."
"Well Anthony, you never know. Sometimes people come into our lives in the most unexpected places at the most unexpected times."
"Dude don't go all fortune cookie on me." Anthony rolls his eyes, "anyways how's the interpreting job you got. You worked today right? Anything interesting going on?"
"Yes I worked this morning. I swear no sooner did I get off work there I have to go to work here, but Anthony how many times do I have to tell you? I'm not allowed to tell you any details about my client's conversation."
Anthony pouts at me as he stretches his leg over his shoulder. I swear that kid has always been super flexible. I remember when I was that flexible, but as you get older and dance longer you leave some wear and tear on your body.
"Honestly Andy you think I would tell anyone about their conversation? Excuse me for trying to have a conversation with my best friend."
"Well I can't say much, but it's a custody case over a divorced deaf mother and a hearing father. And that's all I'm telling you."
At this moment Paul walks up to the both of us "Anthony, there you are. Where have you been? Did you pick up OUR star's green tea made from the finest herbs in China?"
