Your POV
I stood at the arcade door. "We still need to work on our project Zane," I consoled, leaning on the table. I had bought us both milkshakes, despite his protests.
"You could trade texts with me I guess," He replied.
"Sure, not like I have much of a choice," I chuckled, taking a sip of my shake.
He laughed, banging his fist down on the table. In doing this, he accidentally spilled his drink all over himself. He gasped and stood up abruptly, looking down at his now soaked pants. His mask fell down due to the sudden jolt.
I froze before standing up to get some paper towels. As I walked, I couldn't help but look back. Zane had freckles.
He had freckles.
I blushed and averted my gaze, gathering about twenty paper towels. I carried them over to the table and cleaned it up.
I noticed some whipped cream and coated my finger in the glaze.
I looked at it, then at Zane.
I smiled.
I walked over to him, handed him some towels, and beamed. I then took my finger and spread whipped cream on his nose. He froze, then slowly started to blush. I laughed and took the last few sips of my shake. I went to go throw away the cup. There was just one thing that bothered me.
Why couldn't I keep my eyes off Zane?
I recalled the memory and laughed. I must admit, I did have fun with Zane yesterday. I pulled my hair into a ponytail and washed my face. School let out because of a snow day, so I decided it would be a good day to work on our project. I put on my coat and winter boots and grabbed my phone. I texted Zane.
You: Zane I'm coming over.
Zane: Why?
You: Project. Get ready.
Zane: Ugh, can't we procrastinate? 😒
You: Zane, the project is due tomorrow.
Zane: WHAT!? Fine, come on over. Do you remember the address?
You: Yep.
Zane: Okay, see you soon.
You: Bye! 😉I sighed and shoved my phone in my pocket. I ran out the door and down the front steps.
"Mom, I'm going to work on a group project at my friend's house!" I called.
"Who is it?" She asked.
"Zane Ro'Meave!"
She paused before replying. "Well, I suppose Zianna will make sure nothing happens while you're over there..."
"What? Mom, I don't get what you're-" I stopped, eyes wide. "Ohhhhh nooooooooo."
She nodded. "Just keep a lookout, okay? I don't want my little girl having her first...experiences at this age."
"Okay Mom, seeya." I smiled and head out the door. I trudged through the snow, huffing and puffing the whole way. I looked up at the addresses.
"2963...2964...ah! 2965!" I walked up the long driveway and took a deep breath. I knocked on the door lightly, waiting for a answer. The door opened to reveal Zane, looking like he'd went through a cyclone. "Well you're definitely ready for today." I snapped, making my way in. He shrugged.
"Normally when school lets out I stay in my pajamas." I looked down to see grey sweatpants and bunny slippers. I looked up again to see a Gravity Falls T-shirt. It featured a gnome puking rainbow vomit. (A/N: I'm sorry, I just had to!)
"Oh, I like Gravity Falls as well," I set my stuff down on the kitchen table, eyeing him down.
"It would be better to work at my desk," He suggested. "I could pull over another chair."
"Y-you mean in your room?" I couldn't help but feel scared.
"Yeah, got a problem?" He asked, confused.
"No, no! I'm just...anxious...is all. It's my first time going over to a boy's house alone."
"I see," He frowned. "Well if it would make you feel any better, we can work down here."
"No, it's fine. We can work upstairs." I grabbed my bag. "Let's go."
He eyed me for a moment. "Are you sure?"
I nodded. "Yep! Let's go." I walked up the stairs, only to be blocked by a blonde haired boy. "Hey, what gives!?" I snapped, looking back at Zane.
"Garroth, leave her alone." Zane growled. The boy smirked.
"Not until I get to know her. You know I'd never miss the opportunity to flirt with a girl!" He eyed me down. I felt myself blush. "Naive," he stated cleanly. "But cute as well!"
I felt myself growl. "Sorry handsome, I'm not available." I did a sassy hair flip and smirked. That's when I realized what I just said.
"So I'm handsome, now am I?" Garroth beamed. "Well if you change your mind, know we could possibly date!"
"Ew, no." I retorted angrily. "Over my dead body."
"WHO WANTS TO PLAY SEVEN MINUTES IN HEAVEN?!" A loud voice called. "I JUST INVITED, LIKE, A MILLION KIDS!"
I groaned. Could this day get any worse?
"I hope I get you, darling." Garroth winked.
Yes. Yes it could.
Zane looked at me apologetically. I guess we'd just have to rely on a snow day tomorrow.
"Zuzu, where are y- ohhhh Zuzu..." A black haired woman entered the room, eyeing us down.
"It's not what it looks like!!" I yelped, eyes darting around like bullets.
"It's exactly what it looks like!" The woman shrieked. "My little Zuzu found himself a girlfriend!"
"WHAAAAAT!?" Zane and I both said at the same time.
"Zuzu, go kiss your girlfriend!" The woman screeched.
"No!" Zane protested. "And she's NOT my girlfriend!"
"Yet." The woman cackled creepily.
I wrinkled my nose and said, "Okay then." I turned to Garroth. "Move your butt handsome." I pushed him out of the way, walking past like a fashion model.
"Attitude." I could hear him say behind me. "Unique to a pretty girl like her." I grunted.
I don't have time for this, I convinced myself. "Zane, come on. We might be able to get some work on our project done before 'Seven Minutes In Hell'."
Zane laughed at my new name. "Okay, coming." I heard his footsteps behind me and knew he was approaching. I smiled, assumed the black room was his, and went in. Maybe working with him wouldn't be so bad after all.
