Your POV
I opened my eyes to see a big battle. Garroth and Laurance were leading an army of guards, while Aphmau overlooked them. Zane was wearing a holy outfit on the other side of the gates, smirking evilly. His black shadow sword was in his hands.
"Wh-what is this?" I asked, terrified. Present Garroth squeezed my hand.
"Just watch."
A whole series of events happened, werewolves, Shadow Knights, and war. Finally, the next scene was overlooked. Aphmau was with her group of friends, facing Zane and Garroth. But...not Garroth? Garroth was a temporary Shadow Knight, Zane's trusty and corrupted guard. As I watched, Laurance fought Garroth, Aphmau fought Zane, and Katelyn fought this other woman on his side. Zane constantly tried to kill Aphmau, but eventually Garroth realized the right thing to do. He held Zane off as she escaped with her army.
The next scene flashed before my eyes. Aaron kissed Aphmau and her baby goodbye, on his quest to...meet Zane?
"Wait, one thing. Where's future me in this?" I asked Garroth.
"You'll come up soon," he replied sadly.
I watched helplessly as future Aaron entered the Irene Dimension, relics in hand. He stopped Zane from killing future Garroth and pulled him out of the portal. Covered in dirt and purple wounds, he held Zane fast. He reached for his last relic. It shone with a bright light.
"GAH! YOU'LL KILL US BOTH!" Zane screamed.
"Good." Aaron stated calmly. He looked down and squeezed his eyes shut, preparing for the final blow-
"NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!" I chorused with Zane. The relic blasted a hole in the ground, killing them both. Aaron's leather bracelet and sword dropped, along with Zane's shadow sword. I screamed and cried, watching as Garroth told Lord Aphmau the story. I screamed along with Aphmau as she mourned Aaron. I then saw future me.
I had battle armor on, dented but new, and a golden god-like sword. I approached Aphmau, mourning with her. But there was something off about my 'good' looks. I had demon wings. Aphmau turned, eyes wide, as her angel wings grew bigger. She grabbed Aaron's sword to defend herself. The others looked at me, eyes wide. Did they not recognize me? But then I saw what was off.
I wasn't mourning Aaron.
I was mourning Zane.
Why did he have to die in the future? Sad, alone, and corrupted? I turned to now Garroth for explanations, but he looked too grim to answer.
"So this is what happens in the future?" I asked him in the middle of the fight. He nodded slowly.
"Yes. Unless we can stop Zane." He turned to me. "It is true I still love you, but you and Zane might need to be attracted to each other to save each other." He watched as future me killed Laurance, aiming for Katelyn now. Soon enough, future me had wiped out everyone but Aphmau. Future me smirked and stabbed Aphmau in the heart, watching as she crumpled to the ground.
"Driven by Zane's cold movements to you, you eventually turned to the dark path," Garroth explained. "You need as much saving as Zane does. And to think this all started with that snowball..."
"Ice ball," I corrected.
"Whatever." Garroth scoffed. "So now's the right time to start getting closer. At first, you will all be friends living on a street, but then everything will change." Garroth sighed. "So go love Zane. You need to. It will save you and the future as well."
He looked down and watched as future me stopped at Zane's grave. Future me showed little emotion now, but dragged the bodies of the dead over to his grave. She ducked her head and looked down at her bloodstained sword, stabbing it in the ground, in the middle of Aphmau's neck.
The sight was gruesome, but I still needed to know what to prevent. I watched as future me made a small offering, tears spilling from her eyes. I witnessed a black light shine through the words of Zane's grave. Future me looked up and smirked as Zane was resurrected, badder than before. He looked to future me, snarled, and ripped off her wings. Future me frowned and screamed as her powers were transferred. All that evil work for nothing. I could feel the aura future me gave off as she died.
Betrayal.
Zane really was heartless in this world.
He bent and picked up future me's sword, examining it. He smirked and looked around at the sea of blood, enveloping the dead bodies.
"Ah, the work my pawn did for me. To think I could convince her sad, pitiful heart that I cared." He laughed as he said those cold words. "And I'll make it my personal goal to make sure her spirit gets tortured even more than it needs to." He looked down at my sword and broke it in two, using only his bare hands. I let out a cry of despair. "The new age has come." He looked up, eyes white. "It is time for the Jury Of Nine to rule."
I looked up at Garroth, determined. "I need to stop this from happening."
