Flashback (Your POV)

I laughed as I ran away from Vlad. Garroth was at my heels, glancing back every now and then. I let out a happy squeal and ducked behind a tree. Garroth followed me and hid as well. Vlad ran right past us, not knowing where we were. Garroth and I snickered.

"Ha! Come and get us Vlad!" Garroth taunted. Vlad wheeled around, frustrated.

"Where are you?"

"Closer then you think," I murmured, quietly so he thought we were still far away.

He scratched his head. "How can you be closer if your voice is so- oh..." He turned and saw us, smirking. "Well I hope you decided who will be it, because I'm coming!"

"Ahh!" Garroth got up and ran away.

"Traitor!" I squealed playfully after him. Vlad tagged me and ran away. "Grrr, I'll get you back Garroth!"  I ran through the forest, eyes scanning the area. I suddenly heard a rustle in the bushes."Hm..."  I smirked and crouched down, counting to three. "Found you!!" I pushed the leaves aside to see...

A boy with black hair, sitting on a bench, crying. I felt sorry for him and walked up, sitting down beside him. He turned, surprised.

"Hey, are you okay?" I asked him.

"Fine," he muttered, looking away.

"Your eyes are beautiful," I said nicely. I thought I saw his cheeks flush red.

"Th-thank you..." he smiled slightly.

"What's your name?" I asked him. I had definitely seen him in the Ro'Meave house, but he was never social.

He hesitated, before saying, "That's not important."

I blinked. "You have a very big vocabulary." He chuckled.

"So do you. Not many five year olds know the word 'vocabulary'."

I laughed lightly. "Why don't you play with your brothers?"

He sighed. "I'm just...different...is all..."

I frowned. "In what way?"

"I'm not very social."

"But you're talking to me now," I pointed out.

"True," he admitted. "But it's hard for me."

I nodded and stood up. "Well, then I suppose you want to be alone." I turned to go back to my game, but I heard a small voice.

"Wait."

I looked back, smiling faintly at the boy. "Could you...maybe stay for a little while?"

I nodded. "Yeah, sure." I sat down beside him. "Now, let me ask you again. What is your name?"

He bit his lip, then turned to look at me. "Zane."

I clutched my head at the memories flashing inside my head. Just when I thought they were done, they came back.

Zane, Vlad, Garroth, and I were having a snowball fight. I ducked behind my snow fort, struggling to make more snowballs. I finally had a small pile and picked them up in my hands. I glanced up, aiming for Vlad. I threw a snowball that hit him directly in the head.

"Ahh!" He screamed playfully. He turned, smiling, and threw a snowball back at me. I dodged before it hit, laughing. I glanced upwards again. I looked at Zane, struggling to play the game. He looked like he was having fun for once. I was pretty proud of myself for convincing him to play with his brothers more. I could tell he was gaining happy relationships.
