*NOTE: This chapter is rushed as I didn't have time to create a good one before the last night of Hanukkah. Enjoy!*

Zane's POV

I had gone out to get the mail for my Dad, when I saw something that caught my eye. It had my name and my two brothers' on it.

I removed it from the stack and carried the rest of the letters inside. I placed the one for me and my brothers on the kitchen table, then moved to give Garte the rest. Yes, sometimes I call my parents by their first names. Is it really that much of a problem?

"Father," I said, putting the mail on top of his keyboard. Garte looked down from the monitor and sifted through it.

"Zane. This one's for your mother, not for me." Garte directed his gaze toward me, obviously displeased. I stared at his monitor to avoid his cold, dead, glare. It held information about some Mief'wa hunting system, and Ily's name was on the map. It angered me that the only reason Garte sent Ily out there was so that she could do her job.

"I'm sorry, Father," I said calmly, keeping my emotions in check. Garte eyed my whole figure.

"You seem so...calm. I wonder why," he held the letter for Zianna out, and I took it. Then, I walked out of the room without another word.

I walked into the kitchen, handing Mom the letter, then I started to walk away. I froze when I heard some banging noises upstairs.

"WHAT'S ALL THE COMMOTION UP THERE!?" Zianna screamed angrily.

"WE GOT MAIL!" Garroth's voice replied.

My eyes widened. I ran up those stairs like I had never ran before, scanning the area. The noises seemed to be coming from Garroth's room, so I sprinted through, oblivious to the dent the swinging door made on the wall.

I stood there, eyeing Garroth and Vlad, holding a piece of light blue paper. I chewed my lip to keep from fuming.

I took a deep breath, and spoke calmly.

"Why did you open the letter that was ALSO addressed to ME without ME?" I raised my voice at some points, but I still kept decently calm.

"We were curious, and you were doing Dad's bidding," Garroth replied. "However, you can look at it now. It's an invitation."

"Invitation?" I asked, approaching them. I peered over Garroth's shoulder and saw that it was, indeed, an invitation. But - not just any invitation, an invitation from (Y/n). I read it out loud.

"Dear Garroth, Zane, and Vlad. Hi, it's me, (Y/n)! I'm hosting a Hanukkah party at my place, which starts at 6:30. I was wondering if you could make it? Also, please dress formally. We'll be having so much fun! Hope to see you there! Signed, (Y/n)."

Now, I had heard about Hanukkah before, however, I never got the gist of what it was about. All I know is that Hanukkah is celebrated by Jews, so therefore, (Y/n) must be a Jew? I couldn't believe it!

"So, are we doing anything half-past six?" Vlad asked. It took me a minute to realize he was asking me.

"How would I know?" I spat, wondering whether I could go as well.

"Well then check the calendar!" Garroth said bluntly. Vlad facepalmed as I head downstairs, running my finger along the days of December.

"Ah, here we go! Six thirty..." I muttered to myself. There was nothing we were doing at that time, hallelujah! Grinning, I turned to find Garroth and Vlad standing behind me. "We're free!" I announced enthusiastically.

"Okay, but we need to tell Mommy," Garroth said responsibly. I groaned, but Vlad nodded.

"Yeah, we don't want her sending out a search party for us."
