I closed my eyes and sighed, before turning back, and opening the gate, walking through the gate, and focused on Aaron's spirit. I closed my eyes, and felt a burst of energy hit me. I felt myself growing weak, and I barely made it through the gate before I collapsed.

"Shadow! Oh my God! where have you been? Wait.... Shadow.... Your back.... What did they hit you with.... I feel the energy coursing through that burn....." Aaron started muttering to himself, as I was too weak to even move. "Willis! We need your light for a energy burn! I don't know how bad it is...." Aaron yelled and picked me up. I wanted to resist, saying I could walk on my own, but I couldn't as I felt the energy shifting in my body, draining me.

Willis put his hand on my forehead, and closed his eyes. Soon the light was blinding for me, and I could no longer see, so I shut my eyes. When my eyes blinked open again, I heard nothing but the beating of my own heart in my ears. I saw red in my vision, and I felt the pain of the wound on my back. I couldn't move, and I felt very weak. I needed to get up. I couldn't afford to be weak. I couldn't let the pain take over.... So I fought, and my vision returned. I saw Aaron pacing the room, with Willis in the corner trying to calm him.

"She is going to wake up you know..." Willis said with a smile.

"Is she? I don't know what that energy burn was... Or what it came from." Aaron said his voice filled with sadness and concern.

"I-I'm okay.... It just drained my energy at first, now it burns, but I can handle a little pain...." I said softly.

"I told you." Willis said simply, before he turned and left the room, as Aaron walked towards me. He smiled slightly, and then took my hand in his.

"I thought you were fading.... I can't lose you.... I am sorry that I put you through that.... Now I know just how much it must have worried you, and I can only imagine how you must have felt...." Aaron's voice was wavering.

"I'm not going to die.... I am going to be the one to protect you...." I whispered weakly, and tried to sit up. "Agh....." I choked out in pain, as I tried to sit up, but could barely move.

"Shadow... Please don't push yourself.... I don't want you to hurt yourself any more...." Aaron squeezed my hand, and I felt his energy coursing through my veins.

"I-I know.... But I have to get going... Jayda..... I have a really bad feeling.... If I got shot... what happened to her? It was meant to paralyse me and make me weak.... If I hadn't already been opening the gate here, I wouldn't have just fallen through the gate as I did.... I would have laid there for an eternity, until one of them came and collected or killed me.... Or both..." I said feeling sick with worry for my sister.

"Jayda will be fine. She is strong, and fast, and clever... They caught you off guard, and if they hadn't this wouldn't have happened." Aaron tried to reassure me, but I began to struggle, trying to get up again. Aaron's strength still coursed through my veins, and I needed to help Jayda and the others. "I'm sorry about this Shadow.... But, you need to recover..." Aaron paused, and looked over at Kathleen, who took great joy in causing me pain.

"This is going to hurt. But don't worry, you won't remember the pain." Kathleen said plainly and began to steal my energy until I blacked out.

                                                                                Present Day

At this point Kathleen had taken my memories as I found out later. I know what you are thinking... You think I'm crazy, because if I had my memories stolen, I wouldn't be able to write this... Well.... They were stolen for a time, but returned to me, so let me explain.
