I felt myself shaking, and tears streamed down my face. The pain never dulled, and it threatened to steal my breath. I couldn't move, other than my weak shaking which was growing weaker as I did. After what seemed like an eternity, I couldn't see anything, but I heard Ryen getting hurt, nearly killed.
Kaden took the blindfold off of my eyes, right after I heard Aaron yelling for Rin to shut it down. The smell of fried servers filled the air, and the sound of electricity shifted. I felt weak, and then vulnerable as the tears kept streaming down my face. I couldn't stop, and I was shuddering from the pain that Ryen had caused me. "We have to help... Jayda...." I said softly, before I collapsed from the experience that I had been through.
I lay in agony for a long time before I opened my eyes. Aaron as normal was pacing the floor, and I looked over to my left, and Jayda lay next to me, as Kaden tried to heal her internal wounds. "Thank you Kade...." I whispered, and he smiled, before I closed my eyes again.
When I next woke up, Aaron was at my side. Praying for my awakening. I lifted my hand slightly, and ran my fingers through his hair. Aaron looked up slightly, and smiled when he looked into my eyes.
"I am glad you still have your kind eyes..........." Aaron smiled, and looked into my eyes. "I am so glad you are okay.... I was so worried...."
"I'm sorry that I worried you.... I didn't mean to...." I whispered. "Is Jayda alright? I could tell she was hurt pretty badly."
"Jayda's fine... I healed everything internal, but then she wanted me to work on healing you, so she still has a few minor scratches, that shouldn't scar. You however.... I don't know if I was able to heal you completely..." Kaden said softly walking into the room.
"I think you healed me pretty well.... I don't feel the pain any more.... So whatever it did to me, I think you undid Kade...." I said softly looking at my little brother.
Aaron looked over at Kaden as well, and then ruffled his hair like a father would do to his child, and smiled slightly, before turning back to me.
"Stop it!" Kaden snapped very annoyed.
"Kade's my brother Aaron.... You know that...." I said softly.
"But you are raising him for now at least, and I would like to help you, if neither of you are opposed to that." Aaron said kindly, and looked at Kaden, and then at me.
"Does that mean I have an older brother then? Because you aren't my dad." Kaden said suddenly interest flashing in his eyes.
"In a way.... Yes.... But he is a half brother, because you aren't related to him yet." I muttered, thinking of Aaron's plan that he had admitted to me, about asking my dad his permission to marry me in the future, and that plan is sort of out the window, because my father is still missing.
"What do you say Shadow? Will you let me help you raise Kaden?" Aaron asked hopefully.
"I would love that, though Kaden must agree..." I said calmly and glanced at Kaden.
"I have an older brother now? That's so cool.... You can teach me some sports right?" Kaden asked hopefully.
"Want to go play football later? That would be fun to teach you." Aaron said with a smile.
"Cool! You are an awesome big brother!" Kaden shouted, and ran wildly out of the room in search of a football.
"Are you actually feeling better, or did you tell your brother that to ease his mind, and mine?" Aaron asked as soon as Kaden left us.
"I'm okay. I still feel a little weak, but I'll be fine.... I need to see Jayda soon though.... I need to talk to her." I muttered, and then looked back at Aaron.
"She keeps flying away from us... Why do you need to speak with her?" Aaron said kindly with sympathy in his voice.
"Our old base is not safe, so we need a new place.... I may have a place, but Jayda has to agree. Because we need everyone's cooperation for this. You see, we can rescue the others, but we need a place to train them so they can't be hunted down, and it must be safe, so that they can live there. Think of all the children who have probably been taken in... Maxima and Icy.... We need to save them when we find out where they are." I said softly as I sat upright, and Aaron helped me to my feet. My armor still remained, though my sword was by the door. I quickly grabbed it, and fastened it behind my head as a ninja would. I then followed Aaron out the door, and saw that we were in the camp that we had passed a while ago.
"How.... Are we back here? Why are we? We need to go... We need to get far away... Ryen is still out there.... His boss is still out there..." I said frantically thinking of the others.
"Peace.... Jayda took out Ryen, and their boss is not there." Aaron muttered, and I remembered when he told me 'peace' for the first time. He meant, calm your mind, or you can have peace of mind knowing, but he simplified it to a single word. Peace....
"Took out, or something else?" I said worried Jayda had done something she would regret later.
"Let's just say, Ryen is Jayda's pet for now." Aaron said with a slight smile before looking in the sky for any sign of Jayda.
I couldn't see her with my own eyes, but I sensed her far away. I knew she wouldn't like it if I used my powers, but I had to talk to her, and quickly, because if we were going to use my spot as a base for us, we would need to go now, while we weren't being tracked. So I closed my eyes, and leapt into the spiraling void, and when I opened my eyes again, I stood on top of a church, right next to Jayda, who looked infuriated.
"Before you get mad, I didn't say that I was doing this to Aaron, so think of the look on his face when I jumped into the void." I said, hoping to get Jayda to laugh.
"Hot-head probably is going to explode!" Jayda said suddenly, her eyes glowing as she burst into laughter.
"I missed your laugh sister.... But that isn't why I came out here. We need a highly armored base, with high security... I have a place.... But I don't think I can handle going there again.... Can you teach me to stay strong?" I shifted uncomfortably as Jayda's piercing midnight eyes seemed to look right through me.
