Chapter 16

{ALEC}

The first thing I see is Magnus's damn green sparkly boxers. "Magnus... You have got to throw those away."

"Alec? ALEC!! Oh my I god I thought you died!" Magnus pulls me onto his lap, my legs around his waist.

"I did. But obviously Isabelle won't kill me now for dying... Oh shit yeah she will." Magnus manages to laugh a little in his sobs, clearly uncontrollable. The phone rings, but neither of us gets it.

But the message is Jace screaming at us. "THEY'RE HERE! GET YOUR LAZY ASSES UP WITH KATHERINE AND GET TO THE HOSPITAL!!"

"Well damn, Magnus this was fun but we should really go..." Magnus could hardly look at me, his eyes so filled with tears. Finally his lips land close to my jugular and he picks me up and carries me out the door.

{CLARY}

Spencer is the girl name. Spencer Lynn Lightwood. She has blonde curls, and green eyes. The boy, his name is William Levi Lightwood. He has dark auburn hair and brown eyes. I swear they both look like Jace. Jace, holing Will, bounces as he walks over to sit next to me. His eyes sparkle down to our son. He must think I'm asleep. Spencer is next to me in a small crib. I watch discreetly as Jace bends down his head and kisses Will's forehead.

"I swear," he whispers to him, "You won't grow up like me. I'll protect you from everything. I won't ever hurt you." Will smiles in his sleep. Jace looks over at me, noticing I'm awake. I don't even try to hide it. I don't have anything to hide from him. Jace smiles at me. "I had to say it out loud," he whispers. Jace puts Will into his crib and climbs in beside me. "You're beautiful," he whispers, holding me. I entangle my hand with his and let him kiss my lips, softly, not urgent.

I let him comb my hair with his fingers. I fall asleep that way, being held by Jace. I know he didn't leave as I slept.

{MAGNUS}

We apparently aren't allowed to see them until the morning. So much for urgent. Everything is fine, but they're all sleeping. Alec is trying to clam Katherine down. I drift into a sleep, the last thing I see is Alec's blue eyes.
