Michael's phone rang for what seemed like hundredth time that day. He groaned and flopped on his stomach.
He let it ring for a few seconds because he loved his ringtone and then picked up the phone.
"Mr. Clifford?" A gruff voice question and Michael pointed the bridge of his nose.
He should've known that it would be The Universal Studios. He somehow had managed to escape their calls in the past month because he wasn't ready to sing yet but it looks like it was about to change.
"Oh, just call me Michael."
"Very well, Michael. So I'm speaking on the behalf of The Universal Studios. Have you made up your mind about your comeback in the music industry.?"
"Um, y-yeah." Michael mentally cussed because he stuttered and he didn't like it one bit. His cheeks turned a deep shade of red because of the awkwardness he was feeling and he let out a tired sigh.
"Okay, so what do you have in mind?" The man questioned and Michael thought back to the moment when Luke had agreed to write a song for him.
"I think I'd like to sing a single. Nothing big, y'know?"
"Of course, that sounds good."
"Yeah and feels good, too." Michael murmured, a small smile on his face.
"What was that?"
"Oh, nothing." Michael waved it off.
"So what about your single? Have you written a song or?"
"Yeah, I'd like to sing something that is mine."
"Okay, that shall work. I'll see you soon."
"Thanks Mr.?"
"Adam Wilkinson"
"Right. Thanks Mr. Adam"
"Bye."
The line went silent and Michael pulled away the rectangular device from his ear and tossed it on his bed carelessly.
He pulled his knees to his chest and rest his chin on it. He smiled huge and a squeal may or may not have escaped his mouth.
He was happy about it.
Yeah, maybe he wasn't ready to sing yet but he would suck it up and record his first single because he wanted Luke there and neither of them knew when they would see the last of each other.
Michael knowing that Luke had his phone, he texted him asking for him to come over. This was huge and he wanted Luke to know the first even if Ashton and Calum were in the next room.
Within a second. Luke came over and sat on the bean bag, just next to Michael's favourite guitar.
"What's up?"
"I have good news." Michael smiled huge.
"Yeah?" Luke smiled a bit seeing Michael happy.
"I got signed." Michael giggled and his eyes light up.
"Holy shit, that's great Michael."
Luke stood up and rushed to where Michael was and hugged him.
As the seconds passed, Michael felt rapturous. He was absorbing Luke's emotions and for the fist time ever, Luke made Michael feel happy and didn't cause him any pain like he always does, unintentionally, of course.
They pulled away and both of them had grins etched on their faces. Not that you would blame them though. Michael had just agreed to sing a single which made both of them ecstatic.
"C'mon, lets tell Ash and Cal." Michael said, tugging at Luke's hand and dragging him away.
They walked into the living room where the duo were watching The Lion King and when Michael cleared his throat, both the pair of eyes stared at him questioningly with slight annoyance as their movie time was disrupted.
"I have a news to share." Michael bit his lip and Ashton shivered a little when Luke passed him to sit on the recliner next to the couch.
"Yeah?" Calum asked, pausing the movie and giving Michael his undivided attention.
"I just got signed by The Universal Studios." Michael gave them a full-blown grin.
"Hey, that's amazing!" Ashton smiled, obviously elated.
"I'm so proud of you, Mikey." The tan boy stood up to give Michael a hug.
"Luke's here, isn't he?" Ashton asked with a soft smile when he saw Michael smiling at the recliner.
"Yeah, he persuaded me."Michael confessed, his heart filling with love for his best friend.
Without him, he would probably be locked in his dark room with alcohol bottles around him, not giving his career a further thought.
All he would do was think about the feelings he was hiding.
All four of them were euphoric about Michael's single and Michael couldn't stop smiling because at last, he made himself proud.
It was nearly midnight when everyone retreated to their rooms, Luke following Michael.
"So you're gonna write for me, right?" Michael asked rigorously, his heart beating incredibly fast through his rib cage.
"Yeah, of course, Mikey." Luke assured the hesitant boy with his eyes shining bright with determination and he offered him a small smile in return.
"Thank you."
"Don't thank me, I'm more than happy to be writing this for you."
Michael smiled because he hadn't seen a person as pure and innocent as Luke. Whatever he did for others, he didn't want any credit for it. He moved mountains for people he loved and he would never let you be sad because he was such a beautiful person, inside out. He wasn't selfish, no. He always put everyone else before him and that was the best and worst quality he possessed. Luke deserved the world.
He was a person that would openly admit that he screwed up and he would actually apologise for it instead of putting on a front in front of people.
You could give him gardens of flowers and somehow, he would outshine that beauty.
A bouquet of galaxies wouldn't be beautiful enough for him, for the reason that he deserves better.

I really loved the last update but I'm not so sure about this one.
Anyways, this was more of a filer chapter and I can't believe that there are only 5 chapters more to go.
All the love,
Pia xx
