"It's a beautiful day in this neighborhood, A beautiful day for a neighbor. Would you be mine Could you be mine?..." You hummed as the walls around you shook, trying to calm yourself, with loyal 212th clones that surrounded you.
With Obi-wan constantly being called to and from the battlefield, missions, and the Temple, an Interim General was often needed.
So here you were.
The official substitute General for the Clones under the command of Master Kenobi.
You didn't mean to sound internally dull on the subject. It was an honor. But the fact was, Obi-wan Kenobi was called off so much, you knew almost 95% of the Battalion on a first name basis. You were really questioning why he had a battalion in the first place if he wasn't always with them.
But today wasn't necessarily a good day. You had gotten your troops stuck in a tunnel and now slowly getting picked off by surroundingSeparatists.
You had nowhere to run.
"Singing isn't helping, General," Wooley commented.
"It's better than focusing on the looming shadow of death," You muttered.
You flinch as you felt a hand on your shoulder.
It was your Commander, Cody. "It's not your fault." He tried to reassure you. "No one could have predicted this. We were played."
"Did the other Companies manage to get our message?" You asked solemnly.
"They know to avoid this sector," Cody confirmed.
"Well, now we just have to get out of here," Waxer chirped trying to lighten the mood.
"If we even can," Wooley added.
"Stop being such a wet pair of blacks!" A clone yelled at him.
"Wooley's right," You admitted. "I kirffed up, big time."
"Seriously (Y/n)," Cody said. "Stop stressing yourself. This isn't like you."
You shakily pulled your hand through your hair. Having a panic attack in front of these boys would only make matters worse.
"Well, we gotta get out of here somehow," Boil sighed.
The Company began to argue amongst themselves, much to your displeasure. This wasn't going to solve anything.
But as that went on you couldn't help but hear a small buzzing sound.
"Do you hear that?" You asked Cody looking straight ahead of you.
He tilted his head and turned to follow your gaze. "Be quite," Cody commanded and a hush fell over his men as he strained to pick up whatever you were hearing.
The sound steadily grew louder and more clones turned towards it.
"What the h-" you muttered.
"Get Down!" Cody yelled tackling you to the floor.
Faster than one could yell Mercy, a bright light shot through one of the tunnel walls and blew you and your men backward.
...
Blinked as white spotted clouded your vision and a ringing sound in your ears, you felt the limp body of your Commander lay on top of you. Something inside of you cracked.
Squinting, you tried to sit up, holding Cody to the best of your ability.
Before you was a giant gaping hole pouring in the long missed light.
"Well, Boys!" You called as droids soon started to file in. "We got our opening! Let make the most of it!"
The men rallied and began to push against the oncoming Clankers.
As they weaved around you, you did your best to pick up the battered Commander. Carrying him on your back was out of the question. He was just too big. Bridal style would just have to be fine.
"Just hang on," You told his broken body. You knew he couldn't hear you. So maybe it was just to reassure yourself. "I'm going to get us out of here," You whispered. "We're going to get out of here..."
With the hope of new light before you, you pressed foreward.
