"Aslan!!!" Lucy yelled as the three witches disappeared
She rushed to get near him and threw herself to the great lion
"My dear child" he smiled and closed his eyes enjoying the hug
"Are you okay?" I asked Edmund who was looking at the ground, surely thinking about something "Edmund?" I woke him up from his thoughts as I got in front of him so he knew I was talking to him
"Y-yeah, I'm alright" he murmured
"You don't seem like you are" I chuckled trying to cheer him up
"But I am" he simply said turning his backs to me, he was probably worried about something so I didn't mind his rudeness
"So nice..." Valerie murmured to me ironically as she saw the previous scene
I looked at him as he greeted Aslan, he didn't seem happy that the great lion was in front of him, indeed his smile seemed forced

"Aslan will take care of your father don't be upset" Susan tried to cheer me up as I looked at Edmund who was sitting in a corner reading a big fat old book
"I know he will, I trust him, it's Edmund who I'm worried about, I mean I'm also worried about my dad of course but...well Edmund's acting strange" I murmured
"You noticed he's acting strange too?" She asked sitting by me as we played chess to occupy our minds from my dad's situation
"What happened? I mean it is none of my business, if you don't want to tell..."
She rushed to interrupted me "Edmund was a..." She stopped to try and find the right adjective " a difficult kid to deal with, when we found Narnia ,through a wardrobe Lucy had found first, he was the first one to meet the white witch, needless to say she was manipulative and tried to persuade him to join her to be his king lying that he would have anything he wanted and in return he had to bring us to the white witch so that she could make us Dukes and duchesses and , of course Edmund has a 'difficult kid' he wanted to have all to himself so he didn't took us to her castle getting back to her frozen palace alone to have the throne of Narnia for himself, but ,because he got back without us ,the white witch kept him prisoner so we tried to save him, but for he was a traitor he belonged to the white witch as the rules commanded, she wanted to kill my brother but Aslan offered himself to be killed instead of Edmund, Aslan only survived because he was innocent and the innocents killed in the stone table return to life, Edmund regretted what he did and destroyed her scepter while fighting against her army, which got him to get stabbed by it ,fortunately Lucy saved him. He did redeemed himself but he never forgot and ,though it was a long time ago and he was a kid at the time ,he blames himself every time for betraying us" Susan said as she cornered my king winning me once again "checkmate" she smiled but I was too focused on thoughtful Edmund to be a bad loser ,and believe I can be a really bad loser when I want to
I neared him as they were heading to the dinner room to eat, I know I can't make him forget about it but at least I'll try to get him to smile
"Don't you want to dine?" I asked him disturbing his concentration
"Not hungry..." He simply said, trying to get back to his book
"I figured, but at least you should drink a tea or something"
"don't feel like it" he seemed to want to be left alone
I sighed "okay, got it, but if you need something you know were I am" I smiled as he nodded and got back to his book
Mission failed
~~^^~~
"Don't worry he'll be released" Aslan informed as he appeared in the throne room
