The day of the battle was here. The soldiers worked hard training for this day and it was, finally, here. On one hand I didn't wanted this day to come because I'm almost sure there will be bloodshed, but on the other, this was the day I was gonna see her again, I know she won't be like she use to when I look at her, she will probably look unrecognizable, but I just wanted to see her no matter how she looks...Maybe I'm being a selfish asshole, but that's just how I feel.
And maybe she decided to join us for real, her heart may be controlled but I believe she's strong enough not to let herself be commanded by that Witch.
We were now marching to the battle camp, the camp where everything may happen.
Now there we were all in the middle of a wide snowy camp, no trees or big rocks to obstruct the view of the enemies part of the camp.
Some of the soldiers were transporting mangonels and catapults into the battlefield , other checking on their ballistas, their flail and hammers, their bows and arrows and sharpening their swords and war axes.
We were all preparing ourselves when the sound of a thunder was heard followed by the lightning that made us all look forward. A storm was approaching along side a little figure in the distance.
A single hooded figure could be seen mounting a beautiful black horse that looked much taller and muscled than the rest of our horses, no more soul was following them, there was no soldiers behind the horse. You couldn't really see it's face so it was difficult to see who it was, but when it stopped only twenty feet away from us I could recognise her face, her skin was darker and so were her eyes and hair, she looked skinner too, for her cheekbones were visible it ached me to see her like that, her bone wrists were also protruding and so were her collarbones. She looked tired and unhappy aswell.
I felt so worried I would have grabbed her if Pete hadn't stop me before I did so...
"It's her Pete..."
"I know..." he said looking me in the eyes still holding my arm "but there's nothing we can do now for her, you told us she had it sorted, we have to trust her"
"But what if the witch found a way to control her mind?"
"Do you actually know Vanessa?" he forced a smile "Her stubbornness it's impossible to control" he joked earning a weak chuckle from me
"Who are you that approaches us?" Caspian yelled so that she could hear
She was a bit far away but I could catch a glimpse of her lips, she looked to be murmuring something, something incomprehensible , dark magic, I though before yelling "Watch out!" I tried to warn them but it was too late when a thunder burst right in front of us missing Pete's feet by a couple of inches.
It can't be her then, she wouldn't attack us "I guess you were wrong" I mumbled under my breath only loud enough so Pete could hear
"Don't say that yet, if she wanted to hit me she would have already" He unsheathed his sword getting ready to battle
"What do we do now?" Susan asked uneasy
Peter looked at me and then looked at what used to be Vanessa "I don't know...I guess we have to fight...or at least pretend" he seemed undecided
Peter started walking slowly into her direction to see what would happen, but she stood there like a statue, without moving and neither moved the horse.
"Why aren't they doing anything?" Lu asked frowning
"They are not afraid of us obviously, she's stronger now that she controls dark magic" Caspian said also uneasy
