Normal POVDraco stood before the Room of Requirements. Or at least where it was supposed to be.
Please, I need Hermione, I need Hermione Granger, I need Hermio-
A door appeared. Thank Merlin. She was there. Draco, with a confident smile, opened the door. His smile faded right away.
☆
Hermione's POVMy hands were shaking while I held my wand, pointing at her . The blood was still running down my bare throat. The knife had cut my leg too, but I didn't care.
Tears were blurring my vision. I was going to vomit. Then, the door opened and everything sunk in sunlight. I didn't take my eyes of her when Draco got in and hid me from the whole world inside his arms. I just closed my eyes and dared him to hold me more tight.
☆
Normal POVDraco held tight Hermione, like she was a fragile little thing. He had seen the cut in her throat. The cut in her left leg. Pansy Parkinson lying on the ground. But he said nothing, as he laid her down. What the hell had happened there?
Draco kissed Hermione's forehead and looked into those chocolate-brown eyes, which once where full of joy-now they were frightened. Hermione stared back at him, unable to talk.
"Wh-what happened? Is that blood? Hermione, you need a healer." He choked, rubbing gently her back. He glanced at Pansy and then at Hermione.
When Hermione spoke, her voice was shaking-but somehow it sounded steady. "Pansy. She... I don't know how she dragged me here. All I know is that I woke up into a dark room without my wand and somebody was cutting my throat." Said Hermione, swallowing hard," I tried to summon my wand. And I-I succeeded. The third ti-time. Then, I battled with Pansy. She was holding both a knife and her w-wand. I don't know why-she didn't tell me. And I stunned her-she's not dead, I just stunned her. She will wake up in any minute." She looked down at the floor. Her eyes were shiny, like they were about to cry-but they wouldn't. She looked like she was so fragile, yet she didn't need a hero to save her. Her heart was beating like crazy-Draco could feel her heart beating like it was his.
"She hurt you. I don't care what she is." He said, holding Hermione's face into his hands. "You scared the shit out of me,Granger."
Hermione gave him a weak smile and glance at Pansy. "What will we do?"
Draco drew a quick breath. "We should go to McGonagall. And tell her."
But Hermione shook her head and suddenly stood up. She held her wand tighter. "No. I will obliviate her. She will remember nothing of me. Or you. She will be back to normal-but she will forget about...us. I want to obliviate her," said Hermione, turning to Draco and tears shined in her eyes," because she can't be prisoned because of love."
And then, Draco admired her more than ever. Before him, there was no more this little girl from Gryffindor with big teeth and fizzy hair. Before him stood a grown woman. A brave one. That was ten times braver and kinder than he was.
He briefly smiled. He nodded and Hermione turned her back to him. She waved her wand.
The next moment, Pansy Parkinson remembered nothing of Draco Malfoy and Hermione Granger.
☆
Pansy was carefully led by Hermione in the othe side of the Room Of Requirments. In any minute she would wake up. When she was done with her, Hermione's legs was shaking. Draco run to her and held her.
"Easy, easy, Granger. I'll lead you in the Hospital Wing." Said Draco and carried her through the halls. He didn't give a damn for those who turned their faces in surprise or those who whispered things. He didn't care.
☆
"Do you want the good news or the bad news first?"said Draco as he slid in the chair beside her bed.
Hermione didn't have any serious damages. But madam Pomfrey had insisted in laying for a while. Hermione hated it when she couldn't do anything.
She pressed her lips and kept herself from laughing."Bad."
Draco shook his head and Hermione looked into his grey eyes."The good news are that it will leave some brushes. The bad are that you will die."
Hermione raised her brows and crossed her arms. "I will die." She said snorting.
Draco shrugged and leaned back on his chair. "Yes."
Hermione rolled her eyes. Sometimes she just wanted to punch him and sometimes not. Sometimes she wanted to kill him and sometimes not. Right then, she felt butterflies all across her stomach.
Draco held her hand and their fingers laced together. The butterflies flew faster. When he spoke his voice was weak, low. "I'm sorry I wasn't there. I never knew she was going to... I'm sorry. " He said and looked down at his feet.
Hermione shook her head, trying to shake away his words. "It's not your fault, Draco." She whispered as she pressed gently her thumb across his hand. "It's not."
Then,Draco raised his head. He stood from the chair and sat at the edge of the bed. He wrapped her into his arms. "I love you." He murmured into her hair.
Hermione smiled and for the first time she wasn't worried if what would happen next. She just... found herself happy-satisfied.
Hermione rest her head in his chest. "I love you too."
At last, all was well.
